Philly Distance Run - Updated List as of 9/07

Thanks again for sharing that info on the Hampton...I just saved $200!! We have seen rates as this hotel for $189 down to $149 until now. This just can't be beat..and a hot breakfast is included!! :cool1:

Yippee!! $109 per night is awesome!! Thank you vscohen!!

Kristi - good luck to Chad on the job possibility!

Krisit - yeah I'd go with Jim's. I haven't been a fan of Pat's and Geno's for a very long time (and I used to work up the street from them.)

Terri

I agree - it's Jim's all the way for me as well!:thumbsup2

Bumping to see if any other WISHers would like to join us in Philly!

How appropriate that this post just popped up again!

We're thinking about switching from DL this year and doing the Philly Distance run instead. Lots of reasons why...and don't get me wrong we'd LOVE to be at DL in September...but that may change so we need to find another race to train for ;). Looks like a nice WiSH group growing here for the race and I love the way Elite organizes their races. Hmmm....is this a sign???? :goodvibes

Amy - We would love to have you here! Let us know if you need any information to help you make your decision.

Amy - The PDR is a great race. The course is awesome, it's well organized, and you get a nice big medal. You'll love it.

I'm actually doing the DL 1/2 and the PDR this year...but I live 25 minutes from Philly.

Lou

And don't forget if you do the Philly in Sept and the inaugural RnR in San Antonio in Nov you get an additional medal - the dynamic duo!!

I've never done PDR but everything I read about it is very positive and I am really looking forward to it!

I've done the PDR and the Va Beach Rock n Roll Half -- love them both, though (word of CAUTION) Va Beach does get very warm and muggy for BOPers like me.

The PDR was great because Philly is such a neat place to visit -- the Liberty Bell, the art museum, the run along the river -- I'd go back every year if it weren't so far from me.

Have fun, WISHers!!!

Wendy - Although I have never run VA Beach I agree with you. I would imagine that the weather could be very difficult, especially if it's a hazy, hot, and humid day.

Good to hear somebody praising Philly. I think the city gets a bad wrap from the national media. However, it's a great place to visit and awesome place to run. Fairmount Park and the paths by the Art Museum and Schuylkill River are great for running.

Thanks for bumping this up Pat. I forgot all about this thread (bad me :guilty: - I was supposed to be keepiing track of our PDR Wishers.)

I have the list of names posted in the 1st post. If anyone else is joining us, let me know and I'll add your names. I promise to do better keeping track.

Terri

Thanks for the coupon code. I used it this morning and saved $10.

It just so happened that a work meeting has been scheduled for 9/21 night in Philly so I'm going to fly in early and run the race.

Monday I can play golf or spend the morning at the spa. It's a tough meeting. I'm thinking the spa will be nice after the race. :woohoo:

Add me to the list!

I registered at the RnR expo in San Diego. It was $20 off - how could I resist?
