DH has been offered a job at Independence Natioanl Historic Park and they are currently looking for a position to move me into. We know we will not be able to move if we do not both have jobs, so we are hoping that something comes through.

So I have some questions:

What areas are reasonable places to rent? We do not want to buy a house right now.

How expensive is it to live there?

I'm really nervous about this move. We have always lived in Texas, this is a big leap for us.

Thanks!

I just saw your question so I'll try and help a little. I live in the NE area of the city. It is an easy commute from here to Center City by train, bus or car, although parking is tough and expensive. The prie for rentals on a 2 bedroom apartment run between $750 and $900 for a duplex and a little higher in some of the complexes. Houses for rent avg from $800 and up depending on where it is located and what is included. The prices here are lower than NY. Milk is $4.59 a gallon, beef avgs $4.50 lb but there are always good sales. We have several large chain grocery stores, Sam's Club and BJ's for warehouse shopping. If you want more detailed info I can always check the paper or sales circulars for particulars. I hope everything works out for you and if you move up this way you'll find there is a lot to see and do. Just be careful admitting if you are a Cowboy's fan. We are die hard Eagles country. :rotfl2:
