This is the shaver which is on sale at Walmart for $27.99:

Go to the magazine area and buy a copy of the magazine "All You." The magazine cover is red this month and it sells for $2.99. On page 29 of the magazine are coupons for $30 off and $10 off Norelco shavers. I read online that the $30 coupon worked for this shaver, so I gave it to the cashier and it worked! She had to do a price over-ride because the coupon was worth more than the shaver (since the shaver is on sale).

Great stocking stuffer! If for some reason your walmart store doesn't take the $30 coupon, the $10 should work which is still a great deal at $17.97.

Try reading the words printed right on the coupon. It is $30 off a Sensotouch razor, not just any Norelco razor. The Sensotouch retails at Walmart for about $87.xx. We have busted a ton of people at our store trying to use this coupon. I don't know if they're just ignorant or trying to commit coupon fraud on purpose, but it won't fly at our store. If you can find a stupid cashier who can't read, then more power to you.

I was able to get one at lunch. :) As for coupon fraud- I had no clue that it was and it scanned so I would not have done it if I had known... I saw that it did say sensotouch, but in my defense, I did look at every Norelco razor at Walmart (including the 80 dollar ones) and none of them said sensotouch anywhere so I did not know if it was just not carried there or if I wasn't looking at the right place on the package and figured if that if this was not a sensotouch razor, the coupon would be declined and I would just not purchase the razor... No biggie... However, it did work on the razor and I assumed that maybe I did have the right one... so ????? whatever. Too late now.

Not so.

The reason the coupon is scanning is because the manufacturer is using what's called product family codes.

A manufacturers coupon bar code contains the same first digits as their products, therefore, all will scan at the register successfully.

Example; Norelco X's coupon also carries the code to products Y and Z...even though Y and Z are not included on the print.

However - the coupon is NOT meant to be used for all Norelco X Y Z products and if used in this manner constitutes coupon fraud, whether intentional or not.

This was one of the fraud issues being investigated on TLC so everyone, please read your coupons.

Excellent point.

Just because a coupon doesn't beep at the register, that doesn't mean that everything is okay.

The ad in All You has 3 Norelco coupons and even mentions using the $10 off coupon for the razor the OP bought. The $30 off coupon is for an entirely different family of razors and the print on the coupon says so.

I'm not indicting the OP for posting what looked like an awesome deal at first glance. But I just want to point out that it is important to read the coupon's terms to make sure that you are complying with them. It saves you embarasment at the check out.

I am not commenting on the op or the coupon but wanted to say that DH has this razor. I got it for him from amazon a few months back (they had a $15 off and it was only about $17 or $20) but it works realy well.

it's not the highest norelco razor but Dh's old one needed new heads and the heads were twice what this razor cost. I figure this razor will last a few years and then i can look into replacing it. His old razor was no longer holding a charge and he loves being able to use it and not be pinned up against the wall! lol :)

Obviously, I don't use coupons on a regular basis... (in fact it is actually rare that I use one as I don't have time to do the couponing thing and just end up with a house full of generic groceries...) so I had no idea. I just assumed it wouldn't work if the item was not the exact match or not allowed on the coupon... Lesson learned. I just saw the deal this morning and thought since I was in Wal Mart I would try.

Thanks for the info about the coupon! DS needs a new razor -- I'll have to go get that magazine and see if there's a coupon for a razor he would like (picky kid).

fyi: the coupon is in the red magazine of All You not the blue snowflake one.

Also, my Wal-mart did not honor the $30 coupon saying people get gift receipts and cash it back in getting $30. She said it makes them lose money. They had a copy of the coupon behind all the registers on the short wall.

FWIW, if you want to be legit, there is also a $10 off coupon in All You for non-Sesotouch razors.

I used my $30 off coupon at Target on the Sensotouch - regular price $99. Sale price $89 - and it came down to $59. Great deal since DH needed a new razor this year.

Also, a manager had to override my coupon at Target since it was such a high value coupon. I don't blame them for doublechecking.

I think a lot of people make HONEST mistakes when it comes to things like this.

Even with the $10 coupon, it's still worthy of a thread because $17.97 for a razor that I paid $55 for back in Sept. is still a great deal!

Thanks you OP. I went and bought the razor with the $30 coupon for oldest DS who started shaving last year and is eating thru the expensive razor blades (and needs the good ones because of foliculitis) - hoping this will cut down on the razor blade expense. Handed cashier whole strip of coupons and he said well let's try this one first. Worked, went right thru. I showed it to my Dad and he was all excited and wants one too. So I'm off to Walmart again this afternoon to see if I can get another one for free, if not then even $18 is a great price to pay for something like this. Like my dad said, even the heads cost more than that. :thumbsup2
