Philadelphia International Airport Park & Fly Questions..

DH and I have a little get away weekend planned for June 17-20th. Usually we have someone drop us off and pick up at the airport. This time since it is only the 2 of us we thought about just parking down there. Then I started to toss around the idea of staying overnight at a hotel as we would not have to worry about rush hour traffic on Thurs am (our flight leaves at 9:50 so we would be driving right in the middle of it) the whole fear of the car not being there, and staying overnight on Wednesday kinda makes the trip seem a little longer LOL! So....

1. Which hotels offer the free parking & shuttle service with a stay? How much are the hotels and which ones are closest?

2. How much is daily parking at the airport?

We stayed at the Hilton and left our car for two weeks last summer. It was about $100 for the night, far less than the parking would have been. We never use the airport lots, we park over on Essington Ave, there's three or four places, it's about $7 a day including taxes with a AAA rate.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I fly out of there fairly often.

We've stayed at the Ramada 2x for early flights to Orlando. Free parking and reliable shuttles. Friendly staff. GROSS hotel!! Why we have stayed there twice is beyond me!! Next time we will use Priceline and PRAY for the Marriott that is _in_ the airport!!! Check out biddingfortravel.com for more info on Priceline.

I have stayed at the Ramada twice for business. The hotel is OK and they do offer airport parking in their lot with a shuttle to the airport.

We have used Park/Stay packages outside Philadelphia Intl Airport more than once. We have been very happy with this.

We have used this on Friday nights, when flying out very early on Saturday mornings. We used to live further from Phila. so we didn't have to get up before dawn. Also, it is MUCH cheaper than long-term parking, safer & more convenient.

Our last stay was December, 2002. We contacted a travel agent who booked the package at the Holiday Inn Essington. Hotel was nice, car was safe & shuttle was efficient on the way there & back. We paid something like $79. (included hotel & parking), when the regular rate they were quoting walk-ins for the hotel room was $119. The shuttle took max 20 min.s to get the airport. I think it was even shorter than that. This particular hotel also has a pool, which might be nice for a summer stay.

Alternatively, you can also look in the travel section of the Inquirer to arrange one yourself.

The travel agent explained that she would book a hotel out of a group (based on availability) in the area that participated in the service. So, you cannot be guaranteed a particular hotel, although you could request one.

Along the same stretch of highway (Industrial Hwy Rt. 191), there is a Comfort Inn & other hotels.
