I've been doing a ton of travelling for work and what better way to use up all of those points than a trip to Disney! My g/f is going for the first time and I haven't been there in 16 years. So I've got the countdown set up in my signature, decided on mid-October with temps in the mid 80's and smaller crowds.
We booked our flight and most of our hotels tonight, here is what I've got so far.
- Flights to Orlando with one layover but free with accumulated airline points. Plus I can upgrade to Business Class for free with even more points once we get to the airport.
- Two nights in a Holiday Inn Express that cost me just $40 out of pocket and 25k in Priority Club points.
- Two free nights at hotel to be determined with a travel voucher received from donating my old car at the beginning of the year.
Still to buy:
Car from the Orlando Airport, I have been finding deals there for about $160 over the four days we'll be there so I'm fine with that.
4-day pass, going to try out my local AAA office first. Still up in the air about the park hopper or not, going to review the boards some more before deciding on that.
So all in all, I've only spent $40 on four nights hotel and airline tickets to Orlando so far. Money saved so far is easily over a grand. Obviously for two people, the Disney tix will be over $500 alone plus any food/drink/gas.....still not a bad way to get our trip started!!
