My daughter's watching it and loves it. I do too, anyone else?

We love it, too. I've been listening to the soundtrack since I was 15 yrs old. Now DDs 5 and 7 love the movie, and so do I.

My DD is 15 and we watch the movie often. We also listen to the CD in the car all the time.

Yes! Both DH and I love it. It's funny, because DH doesn't usually go for musicals. We saw Phantom at the Wang Center in one of the private boxes thanks to my sister who was working there at the time, and I think that is what drew him in.

Movie-wise, we love it, even though the guy that played the phantom was not disfigured enough, plus he was whiny (and can't stand up to Michael Crawford!). We thought Emily Rossum was terrific though, as was Miranda Richardson.

Erm, this past weekend we had a movie party for friends, and we watched Phantom. Everyone loved it, and we are all thinking about karaoke possibilities for future gatherings...

Allright, Phantom geek signing off. :)

LOVE IT!!!!!

Saw the musical with Michael Crawford (he was amazing)

and I just love the movie! I know people criticized Gerard but I liked his singing! Just a great movie!

I don't think anyone could stand up to Michael Crawford...

I love Phantom. I've always wanted to see it live, but haven't had the chance. The movie was pretty good though.

I love "Think of Me" and "Masquerade"

I haven't seen it with Crawford yet, I'd love too with all the reviews about him.

we really lucked out seeing him. I happened to call to get tickets for my parents and he was playing the part for 2 months in Los Angeles.

My DH and I got chills from the first note out of his mouth. It was a night to remember. I just wish my kids could have seen it on stage. It is a show not to be missed. Just wonderful.

I love when they sing Past the Point of no return....holycow! That song...it made me cry. Looking at Raoul (sp) and then the Phantom....

I love the musical. The songs are mesmerizing and beautiful. And the stage show is exciting and very dramatic. I've seen it twice onstage.
I personally didn't like the movie. I thought it moved around an unnecessary amount of time and that the actors didn't try hard enough to prentend they weren't singing to a sound track. I am a trained singer so I look for these things-don't know why. I thought phantom was way too handsome (more so than Raoul-this is a problem) so he couldn't be believed when he was singing about his pitiful state. Ok thats enough-I could go on, but I will stop there

Just saw it last week in Las Vegas at the Venetian and the sets were incredible. Loved it.

My love affair with Phantom has been going for 10+ years now. Crawford absolutely is the voice of the Phantom. I hope to one day see him perform the roll. Second to Crawford is Hugh Panero! {sigh} His "Music of the Night" brought tears to my eyes and bravo's from the audience. He is no longer doing the Broadway show... but is planning to tour with "Phantom..." in the future. Catch his performance if you can!

I have loved Phantom for over 16 years now. I love the movie, but live in person...spectacular. Of course, I have only seen in in SF when it was here for a few years. The soundtrack is a staple in my CD collection.

I have never seen any version of The Phantom of the Opera, but it's a favorite of my mother's. :) I know she's traveled twice to Canada to see it.

POTO is what turned me on to the www.gerardbutler.net website. I absolutely love that guy. He is such a handsome, normal person who is going to be in some amazing movies soon. Watch out for him. :cool1:

That said, even though I loved him in POTO, I agree he was too pretty to be convincing. He did a good job but remember he was cast and directed by others so that is Andrew Lloyd Weber's and Joel Schumacher's views of the movie they wanted to make.

I have not had the privelege of seeing it on stage and wonder now if I should as the movie is what I love? :confused3

I know a lot of people love Michael Crawford and I really should get the soundtrack and listen. I think there can be more than one version that can be loved by many. :thumbsup2

i think i'm the only person who doesn't really like this movie/play lol. i went to see the play about 2 years ago and i almost fell asleep. i had no clue WHAT was going on, my poor fiance who was so excited to go spent most of the time either waking me up from almost falling asleep, or telling me what was going on.

it wasn't the worst play i've ever seen(Starlight Express or Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.......anyone?) but not really one of my favorites.

I just saw the movie last weekend. I loved it. Actually, Mini Driver was my favorite in the movie. Loved her comic relief. :teeth:

I love the play and the music. I have seen it on Broadway and also in LA about 10 times. Michael Crawford's and Sarah Brightman's voice are just beyond belief. DD plays the music on her piano for me all the time.

I am in love with the Phantom. It is soooo haunting. I loved Crawford and the live production. I also love the movie. Poor Gerry did get broiled in the reviews but I found him captivating. I watch the darn thing alot and never get tired of it. I am thinking of getting to New York and seeing it again, as well as Les Mis. Anyone know who the current phantom on broadway is, and have you seen him?

I haven't seen the movie (yet), but in April, my mom and I went to Esssen (Germany) to see the play, and we both loved it!! We were quite lucky to have Ethan Freeman as Phantom.

I have already a couple of CDs from the play, and plan to extend my collection with some others!
