I had dinner at Ohana in 2004 and 2005, and breakfast there in 2005, and everyone in my party loved the food and the entertainment. I hate to see these reviews and learn how they've gone downhill. :sad1: Or maybe we just have low standards? Has anyone else actually enjoyed their meal there at some point?

Yeah, I have enjoyed Ohana's multiple times, at least 6 times in the past 5 years. I am not a picky eater though and would eat slop when hungry enough......:thumbsup2

We enjoyed our breakfast at O'Hana this past March. We are staying at the Poly this coming March and I have to say his review of the food made me a little nervous!

I had dinner at O'hana's a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. I had breakfast there in March and really enjoyed it as well.

we ate at Ohana for our "after dinner" wedding and we loved it... everyone in our wedding party did actually. the food was pretty good but I mostly remember the amazing dessert.. the bread pudding .. was out of this world! seriously, I would eat there again just for that...

the entertainment (coconut races) for the kids was fun and the lady singing was kind of cheesy but it made it fun. She found out that we had just gotten married and asked what my new last name was... and for the rest of the evening she would occasionally say "oh! Mrs. (insert new last name here) is singing along with us!" or make a reference to me.. it was hilarious.

We are eating there again this December. Ohana is not my favorite restaurant in WDW but I'd give it a 7 out of 10 and mostly for that bread pudding! My mom loved Ohana though and she's really looking forward to eating there again this year.

As far as breakfast goes, me and my fiance had an "eh" reaction to it. The characters stopped just long enough for us to take a picture and the food was just blah.

As far as dinner at Ohanas, we have had great experience with the food, however the service not so much. We are usually rushed through it. Next time we will tell the server we would like a little time in between the courses.

We ate dinner there last August and it was terrible. The food was overcooked and cold. I was really looking forward to eating there after all the hype on the boards but I was really disappointed, as was my husband. We definitely will not be going back anytime soon.

We ate at Ohana in 2006 for our grand gathering and loved it. The waiter was awesome and the food was very good. We went again in 2007 with the same crew and it was terrible. From the waitress right down to the dry meat. The only good thing was dessert sadly. We are not returning this year. None of us are hard to impress either.

We love the breakfast at 'Ohana- we have always had great character interaction, and the food has been good for typical breakfast food. Love the juice!!!

Dinner has been more inconsistent. We have had a few GREAT meals there, and a few not-so-great ones. We still go back almost every trip, though- sometimes for b'fast, sometimes for dinner, and sometimes for both.

We like 'Ohana, and I don't think we have low standards- but it isn't a restaurant for everyone. The atmosphere is definitely more kid-friendly than some like, and there isn't a break in the service- you tend to get all your food at once, which many think is too rushed.

We have gone numerous times for dinner the most recent being Oct '07 and have loved it. The food was good and my DD4 loved the limbo and Hawaiian songs. She walked around saying "hang loose" for quite some time after dinner. We will be going back on our next trip.

I've never had the breakfast but we did the dinner in Oct 07 and Feb 08 and will do it again in Oct 08.

We found the food very tasty. Of course, each of us liked something different the best ( mine was the turkey ) We did have one round of chicken that seemed a bit overdone, but the next time they came around it was pleasantly tender.

We loved the potatoes too! I hear they have noodles now, but I'm sure we'll enjoy those too.

The service was terrific! In October my 3 year old nephew started to have a slight meltdown because he was going through the 'I only want pasta stage'. The waiter noticed the discussion we were having with him about trying new things and whispered to my sister that he would bring noodles if she wanted. Needless to say, we got him to try some new veggies, but the noodles were his favorite.

We are loyal visitors to the Polynesian. We've stayed there at least 15-20 times. We LOVE dinner at Ohana (one of my favorites). Unfortunately though, breakfast left a LOT to be desired. I agree with Pete that the breakfast was very disappointing.

After Pete's review, I'm thinking about cancelling my O'hana breakfast for next week and going to Kona for Tonga Toast a second time instead. I'm so torn. Lilo and Stitch are my FAVORITE characters and I thought it would be a fun place for my 19 mo. We are also going to Chef Mickey's and to the Princess Breakfast at Norway. Hmmm. What to do?

Just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean you won't.
After all look at all the critically aclaimed movies that get nominated for "Best Picture". Most are horrible.
I've never eaten Ohana, dinner or breakfast but have had Kona.
I would definately go back to Kona even if Pete doesn't like it.
A review is nice but it's not a plan changer for me.
If you love Stitch I would think you'd love Ohana. Afterall it's the only place you can character meal with him.
I'd say give it a try at least once if your interested.

I'm actually kind of hoping we can eat quickly, since our ADR is at 7 PM on New Year's Eve and I'd like to get out to the beach in time for the 8:30 PM Wishes fireworks!

Though I'm going to ask the hostess for a window table -- if we get that, then we'll ask the server to gooooooo sloooooooooow so we can watch the fireworks right from the table!

We ate dinner at O'hana's the first week of June this year and it was great!!! We will definetly go back!! There was 21 of us in our group and usually with that many people in a group you don't great service or even great food because it takes so long to get it out. But it was really awesome!! I think all restaurants have their off days. And everyone has a different taste in food. You will never know if you like it if you don't try it once. Alot of people love Chef Mickey's and that was another place we ate in June and it was disgusting! I doubt we will ever go back there!

When I say we loved the dinner entertainment there, I should point out that it was not the "kees on the leeps" woman. I still laugh whenever I remember that review!:lmao:

just because there are different experiences, doesn't mean someone has or does not have taste!

Restaurants have good and bad and ordinary days. The podcast crew loves Brown Derby but my last meal there (Jan 08) was bland and rushed. Prior meals have been wonderful. I would not say it was terrible, just not up to expectations.
