Pete's back, and he's mad as heck...

Hey doconeill, I think you deserve a big :thumbsup2 for starting this conversation. Although it didn't proceed the way you had hoped, it really did prompt an interesting thread.

Hi everybody...

I´m a newbie to posting here but I just have to say that I absolutely love Petes rants and the rest of the groups too. In my opinion Pete could rant a whole long episode and that would be great.
But I do understand that some people could get the wrong idea about the podcast because of it. My only concern is that, should a podcast really try to please everybody? If some people get the wrong idea, is that so bad? I mean, we are a big bunch that already love the podcast. If the podcast crew starts to worry too much about how everything they say is going to be perceived by the audience....not good, I think.
I worry more for the podcasts that never voice a personal opinion and try to please there whole audience. But someones trash is always someone elses treasure, right? Just my two cents.

(Sorry if the english isn´t always correct. I wish english was my first language.)
I do love the way you expressed my opinions exactly. Well said.
I am becoming concerned, however, that the podcast is regularly becoming a rant against Disney Corporate, rather than news and information. A good portion of yesterday's podcast was taken by this.

The reason I am concerned is that The DIS Unplugged could easily gain a reputation as "that podcast with the guy who hates Disney," and listeners could leave.

I see your concern, doconeill, but I don't see Pete's rants as being "regular" at all. It's the anticipation that one MIGHT get a rant that makes us crave them. This rant was particularly long...but it came from the heart, from Pete expressing himself, and his passion for the subject came through. I think that's what his die-hard listeners have come to expect...passion. Without it, what are we listening for?

I, for one, am not leaving, no matter HOW passionate Pete and the gang gets!

Hey no harm done and I see where you are coming from but at the same time people could just choose not to listen if they don't like the contents of a program (that is what I do anyway).

See I don't advocate this. Speak your mind and let the chips fall where they may. If you really enjoy a program and it seems to be straying (in your opinion) then you should feel compelled to speak up! It shows passion and character. Way to go OP!

And you got a response from PETE! Too cool.

I do love the way you expressed my opinions exactly. Well said.

I only wish those who DO have english as a first language were able to speak as well as you! Well said.

Thanks for the kind words guys, really appreciate it.

I think the DIS boards are great just because we all CAN express our opinions and no one is either right or wrong.:yay:
