Peter, Wendy & the Lost Boys head to DisneyWorld TR 3/22-3/28 2014

Thank you for your prayers, she had a couple rough nights this week but is starting to feel better.

Thanks for jumping in. We were definitely in the building the same time as you. We road Nemo about 2:30 then did Turtle Talk around 3:00, after that we hung out upstairs at the aquarium until 4:00 when we headed to our ADR at Coral Reef.

That's awesome! We might have passed each other in that building. :)

our big trip in 2015 is going to be West Virgina's Blackwater Falls State Park, Great Smokey Mountain National park and possibly Mammoth Cave National Park

We did an extended family trip to Blackwater Falls about 20 years ago (11 family members packed like sardines in a van). That area is so pretty. I believe we were there in the early fall. There was a really neat shop nearby that sold produce, canned goods, and touristy things, that had an old fashioned cider press out back with ponies that turned the wheel. (One bit my youngest sister!) Take along binoculars so you can see the climbers on the Seneca Rocks
We live a couple of hours from Gatlinburg, so we go there often and enjoy it. We are thinking of spending a few nights at the Jellystone campground there this summer.

Thanks for the trip report. We are planning a trip to FW/WDW next summer. My sister went to the beach for a week 10 days after her gall bladder surgery, so best wishes to your wife for a speedy recovery.

Monday the 24th we had a 7:50 a.m. ADR at 'Ohana so we were up early and at 7:00 we caught the first bus up to the Settlement where the boat for the Contemporary Resort was waiting. After a short boat ride we arrived at the Contemporary where we caught the Monorail to the Polynesian. We arrived at 'Ohana about 7:40, got our picture taken and were seated.

The sweet breads and drinks were brought out first, a few minutes later they brought out the eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes, then another server came around with the Mickey waffles.

After a few more minutes the characters started making their way around the dinning area.

First was Lilo who was very sweet.

Then Mickey

Then Pluto, who the boys loved from meeting in Epcot the day before

And Finally our Favorite Alien, Stitch!!! Of all the autographs they got both agree that Stitches is the coolest looking.

While I was paying the bill the boys marched in the character parade around the restaurant, once that was over we head out to catch the bus to Hollywood Studios. As we were walking out at 8:30 we saw a HS just leaving.

After waiting for about 20 minutes and seeing a couple of DTD and AK bus come we asked the intern who was at the bus stop when we could expect another HS bus to show up. He told us that 3 had come back to back to back within 5 minutes of each other, we had seen the last of the three, and they were backed up at the park and he was trying to get an estimate on when another would show up. Another 20 minutes went by and by this time a large crowd had gathered looking to get to HS, we checked with intern again and he still wasn't sure when it was going to show up. We had been hoping to get there close to park opening to get the boys signed up for Jedi Academy and were getting worried all the slots would be filled by the time we got there.

A few minutes later the intern came to us, and a few other families that had just missed that last bus and had been waiting a long time, and told us he was expecting the bus soon and wrote out a pass for an extra fastpass. He then moved us towards the front of the loading zone to make sure we would get on the next HS bus, which finally came at 9:30. As soon as we got off the bus we left Wendy at bag check and the boys hurried over to the sound studio hoping there were still Jedi Academy spots left. We got there at 9:50 and got a spot in the second to last show of the day, the CM said there were less than 40 spots left. We were also lucky, I'm guessing since it was Florida spring break week they were bringing out Darth Maul and Darth Vader and had 32 spots per show. We were told to return at 4:10 for the 4:40 show.

We headed back towards hat to try and find Wendy. Once we found her it was time to figure out what we were going to do. We were going over our fastpasses to decide what we wanted to ride with our extra pass, when I mentioned one FP was for Tower of Terror Patrick said he decided he wasn't riding that, then Michael said if he isn't riding neither am I. In the past at other amusement parks we have forced the boys to ride things we knew they would love but it is always a big ordeal to get them on and we said beforehand we were not going to do that on this trip. We had decided to use our extra FP to ride Toy Story and headed there, while in line I used my phone to change our ToT FP to the Great Movie Ride.

Everyone really liked TSMM.

I was won but was a little disappointed with my score, I think I spent to much time aiming and not enough time shooting.

After the ride we went across the street and got in line to meet Buzz and Woody, we loved all the photo ops they had while you were waiting in line.

Stinky Pete, that's me!

The Claw

I think I mentioned before Michael is a huge Toy Story fan and we have a ton of Woody and Buzz dolls around the house. He was much more excited on this day than he was at MK to meet the guys.

After we were done with Buzz and Woody we walked through Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, and did The Legend of Jack Sparrow. It was then time for our GMR FP+. The boys were a little scared of the Alien scene. I thought Patrick was going to jump out of the car at the Indiana Jones scene, as they were saying Snakes, why did it have to be snakes, I may have taken my finger and slithered it across the back of his neck.:darth: You should have seen him jump and spin around in his seat.:rotfl2:

After GMR we had some time before our scheduled FP+ for TSMM so we headed to Muppets 3D. After Muppets we headed back to TSMM, my accuracy suffered but I was a little happier with my score this time.

At this point we were hungry and when we came out of Muppets earlier the boys had seen Pizza Planet and wanted to eat there. Pizza was not bad but not great like Via Napoli the day before. After lunch the boys played a couple video games and then we did a little shopping Michael picked out a stuffed Kermit the Frog as his daily souvenir, Patrick found a How to Draw Phineas and Ferb Characters book but wasn't sure so decided to see if he found anything better later in the day.

It was time to head over to Star Tours for our last FP of the day. After Star Tours we still had a little time before Jedi Academy. Wendy wanted to rest and got a drink and sat at an outside table at Backlot Express. The boys and I went off to find a rest room then decided to fuel up for Jedi training with some ice cream.

We were in the same park again! :thumbsup2 We did HS on Monday the 24th, and did Jedi Training, too, but we were in the 10:10 group. Did both Darth Maul and Darth Vader come out for your group? We just had Darth Vader and there were only about 12-15 kids in our group.

We did a few of the same things this day, but our timing was different, so we probably didn't cross paths this day. :)

It was finally time for Jedi Academy, we were one of the first ones to check in. While we were checking in there was an angry mom talking to one of the other CMs, she had evidently gone to the stage instead of reporting to the sound studio so her kids had missed their time slot, with only two shows left the CM was telling her that they could stand by as an alternate but there was a good chance that they were not going to be able to get them in, I felt sorry for her kids. Eventually she ended up storming off.

More kids were checking in and the CMs were handing out robes. It was finally time to head down to the stage so I texted Wendy to get a good spot for taking pictures.

The Jedi came out and training lightsabers were handed out. They went through some basic training with the younglings.

Then the stormtroopers showed up and it was time for the Sith to enter.

First Darth Vader

Then Darth Maul

Then it was time to battle, they asked for a volunteer to go first and Patrick raised his hand and was chosen

Then it was Michael's Turn, he was very excited he was the only one to get to use the Force Push on the Storm Troopers

They defeated the darkside and officially became Jedi Padawans

After Jedi Academy we watched the Indiana Jones Stunt show, the boys loved all the fighting, fire and explosions. After the show we decieded to call it a day. As we were heading towards the exit Patrick reminded us that he had not gotten his souvenir and decided he did want the Phineas and Ferb book he saw earlier. We left Wendy on a bench and headed back to the store where we had saw the book. We had explained to the boys before the trip that they could get one thing a day but when we were in the store Michael really wanted a Fozzy to go with his Kermit and promised he wouldn't ask for anything the next day (we'll see how that worked out later) if he could get him. So we walked out of the store with a book and a Fozzy and went to find Wendy.

On the way out of the park we stopped at a photo pass spot

We caught the bus back to Fort Wilderness the wait was much less than the morning. Once back at the Fort we caught an internal bus to our loop.

Michael was very happy with his Kermit and Fozzy

We grilled up some burgers at the campsite for dinner. We could hear the sing a long starting but were tired and decided not to head over, the boys crawled into their bunks and started watching Jungle Book since we were doing Animal Kingdom the next day, both of them were asleep before the movie ended.

We did a few of the same things this day, but our timing was different, so we probably didn't cross paths this day. :)

We had both Darth Maul and Darth Vader, we saw parts of a few shows that afternoon and they had both in all of them. We almost bumped into you, when were getting signed up in the morning we saw the kids for the 10:10 show lined up outside getting ready to head down to the stage.:)

It's funny you are doing everything one day after us...well food wise. We had breakfast at Ohanas on Sunday! :rotfl:

I am glad the boys were able to do the jedi training. I wish my daughter had an interest just so I could take pictures of it once. :rotfl2:

Happy Easter!!!! Normally we would be at church, but we're in Florida at the beach for a little rest and relaxation. :sunny: :beach:

Speaking of Wendy last week she started having chest pains and was having trouble breathing so we spent the end of last week at the hospital running tests and meeting with doctors and on Friday she ended up having gallbladder surgery. She is doing fine, still a little sore but recovering. Now that we have dealt with this I will get back to updating the trip report in a couple days.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about Wendy! But glad it was the gallbladder and not her heart. That can be scary. Hope she makes a full recovery and is back to normal soon.

The bus situation at the Poly sounded frustrating. At least you snagged a FP ;) though. Just curious...they had an intern/CM out by the buses? Interesting. I've never had anyone at the bus stops with us. Is this new? Totally worked out for y'all to have someone there. It would make sense to have a CM at the bus stops to answer questions and give directions.

Love the video of the boys!! Nice added touch to your TR:thumbsup2 My kids are big Star Wars fans, also. That Darth Maul looked sooooo real!!! Amazing what Disney can do!

Hope y'all have a fabulous day!!!

Loving your trip report! Looks like your boys had a great time at the Jedi Training Academy. I have an adult son that is going to be green with jealousy that he wasn't able to do that as a boy, lol!

Hope you had a relaxing day at the beach Heather, sounds fun! We were low key today church in the morning and since spring has finally arrived, I had to dig out the tractor and mow the lawn for the first time this year. Wendy is still taking it easy but is doing better each day. Before she had the surgery we had plans to go camping this weekend but had to cancel.

Not sure if its new or not but having the intern there was nice, so we were not just sitting there wondering if a bus was ever going to show. I am thankful it all worked out for us and we still were able to get the boys into Jedi Academy. Darth Maul was very impressive.

My boys have a jealous dad, the CM wouldn't believe me when I told him I was 12 at sign ups.:)

Too funny!! Yep I was standing there with my nephew. :) The line looked crazy after we came out of signing up, so I wonder if because there were so many people they had to double the size and add both Maul and Vader in the afternoon?
