Pete, Hotels love it when you steal their soap, etc.!

In some states - Health Department Regulations require the hotels to dispose of the Shampoo/Soaps/Lotions even if the seal hasn't been broke open - so take them with you.

Take them and donate to a homeless shelter. They're always needing toiletries.

This link will get you to the first slide:

Heh...lets apply our Disney knowledge to some of these:

1. The 1-800 reservations number will probably send you to a central office with set rates. If you call the hotel directly instead, you can negotiate.

Well, pretty much ANY number you call for WDW will go to some call center, possibly not even in FLORIDA...good luck trying to reach the actual front desk if you are further away than the, well, front desk...

4. If you show up at 11 a.m. and check-in time is 2 p.m., please don’t be upset if your room isn’t ready. I can’t make the housekeepers go any faster. And you don’t want them to rush.

So, can I get mad when check-in time is 3/4pm and I check in at 5pm and the room isn't ready? Not according to some people... :)

9. My official job description: errand runner, toilet plunger, bow-tie tier, towel deliverer, and chef (that free continental breakfast doesn’t appear from above). I’ve also sprinkled rooms with rose petals and dealt with dead bodies. All for about $10 an hour.

They forgot towel-animal-maker, pixie-dust-spreader, "my-ticket-won't-scan-and-my-dining-plan-is-screwed-up"-fixer, etc...

10. We love it when you steal the soap, shampoo, and lotion. That’s why we put our logo on them. But pillows, bedspreads, and irons? We’re billing your credit card.

Hmm...nothing about towel animals then...

11. Keep it down. Even the best hotels aren’t totally soundproof, and I’m the one who has to send the security guard up to knock on your door when someone complains.

Note...at least some of the BCV walls are "thin". Really.

12. It’s a lot easier for me to remove Wi-Fi charges from your bill at checkout than to agree to waive them in advance.

Well, not a problem at WDW, is it?

I just cleaned out a couple of drawers and I had a bunch of hotel amenities. They are all going to a friend of my mom who sends them to women's shelters.

Smart move! It always seems like a good idea to take the little bottles. But when do we use them? Do we think we are going to take them on our next trip? Most places I go, I get more little bottles! And the collection keeps growing...
I have actually started using them at home instead of buying more shampoo and conditioner.

I always collect the hotel toiletries and then take them to our local DVAC ( a domestic violence center).

we donate them to the people in need here as well:thumbsup2

We always donate them to needy kids, like in our Operation Christmas Child boxes. I love putting Mickey head soaps in those boxes! We also have a friend who takes things to an orphanage overseas and that's where we send the shampoos and conditioners.

this is absolutely TRUE !! i have worked in the Hotel industry, they want you to take all of those little things home with them that have their Logo printed on them. The thinking is, when in 5 months you see that little Logo of the "Las Vegas Hilton" you will remember what a great time you had there and want to book another stay. That doesnt mean they want to take home 500 bottles of shampoo, they are costly for them, but certainly take home a few, thats why they buy them !

I take them in my gym bag to the YMCA and use them when I shower after my water aerobics class.

I take home the soap, but I don't want to check a suitcase just because I have more little bottles of shampoo and lotion than will fit in a quart-size ziploc bag!

I too am a hotel soap junkie. I'm glad they want me to take them, CUZ I'M TAKING THEM!:lmao:

Yes! It used to be much easier to steal all those little bottles before the 1 quart ziplog bag restrictions!
