Pete - Bob Iger promoting his company? That's his job.

We're not supposed to talk about politics on the board, so I'm not going to get into a tax code debate with you.

But let's not act like Disney is hurting for money.
Whether or not a person or company can "afford" to pay a certain tax rate is not the same as whether or not that is a good tax rate for the country to have.

Nope.
But as you said, if one doesn't like the content, they're welcome to move along rather than criticize it. Works both ways

Sure, absolutely. Agree 100%. They're welcome to leave at anytime. And if there is a portion of the content that one has a contrary point of view, they should be able to express it, as long as it fits within the posting guidelines of the board.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and Nikki has even stated that criticism is welcome. Keep it civil.

Mike, I guess I would like a clarification from a moderator if you don't mind...

Generally, the board has a rule prohibiting political discussions. If, however, an inherently political subject, like tax rates, is brought up on one of the DIS-produced programs like the Daily Fix, in the context of how they relate to Disney, is it okay to debate and discuss that subject here, so long as it remains civil?

If you are responding to a show segment or commentary from the show, a little wider latitude is allowed. If the topics start to wander off course, the moderator(s) will take appropriate action. We want a healthy discussion of the show topics and not a heated political discussion. Tax Rates are more of a legal discussion in my mind, like "jaywalking" or "civil law."

I used a word once that wasn't censored here (not a curse word, but then, anatomical words are censored her, go figure) that was used on the show and I got reprimanded for it, so obviously we still need to discern what can and can't be discussed from the show?
