I love the thread Blondie started about pets. I was so touched by DisneyDragon's dog kissing her son "goodnight".
It made me think about sharing stories about our pets. I'm fairly new to the disboard. I'm not sure if this has been done before. If so - let's do it again.
One Christmas morning we had a houseful of relatives and friends opening gifts. The room was full of enthusiastic, festive people. We were all in a happy frenzy. You've been there - you know what I mean.
Our Brittany spaniel, Brittany (what else????) couldn't contain her excitment. She ran upstairs and returned with one of her stuffed toys. She dropped it at my feet, and hurried back upstairs to get another toy. This one she gave to my son. Back upstairs for another - she gave her toys away until she had run out of them.
What a sweet Christmas treat that was. She understood what was happening and wanted to be a part of it. Naturally she had many hugs and treats herself that morning.
Don't you just LOVE animals?????

(trust me, this wasn't the smartest thing to do!)
I knew it was time to call the office and fess up to the manager. She was so pissed at me and told me she was sending a repairman up. She also said that if the jacuzzi had to be ripped out, we would have to pay for all the expenses. I agreed and apologized profusely for being such a jerk and bringing my cat.
All, I have to say is, we really lucked out! And we NEVER take pets on vacation with us anymore!

the beagle came home with me. But he would need to go back the following week for his final shot. After some serious consideration, I came up with the name Ricky. The next week we went back for his shot, and who should come in, but the pretty little cocker spaniel with her new owner and his partner. Well what do you think the guys named the pup, yep it was Lucy. This was 10 years ago and we have gotten together over the years for "play dates" and we always exchange Christmas & Birthday cards between Ricky and Lucy. ANd when we do get together, its amazing how well these 2 dogs get along. It really is like they have this memory of bonding as pups.
