I started a new job about a month ago as a Dispatcher for the local police department. I finally had orientation this week, along with about 10 other people who have started working for the city in the past month.
Most of the orientation was done off of PowerPoint (which is annoying in itself), but my problem is that they were ALL riddled with horrible spelling mistakes.
They were basic mistakes like a/an, your/you're, their/they're, weather/whether, to/too. The person leading the orientation actually stopped the PowerPoint once because he noticed he made a typo on a word, but never picked up on any of the other mistakes. I mean really, we're a fairly large city, and we employ about 1500 people.. you'd think they would do a better job editing and proofreading things before they actually used them.
We're only halfway through orientation today, and a couple other girls and I are all going nuts.
It's going to be a loooong day, I think...

The TV mistakes are the worst - especially on the news, and it seems to happen all the time!
