Does anyone have any experience with pet friendly hotels in the Disneyland area? I am trying to get one last trip on my MK before it expires(not renewing this time) and I would need to bring my doggo. We have never done this before and so have no experience. A plus would be if they let me leave the dog unattended, she would be penned while alone she is not loud and does not destroy anything just has some needs my dog sitter cannot handle. Any help would be appreciated.

Candlewood Suites, Holiday Inn, Homewood Suites, Residence Inn, Pixar Place are some. However I dont know of any you can leave your dog in the room while you are away.

You may want to look into a daily boarding facility while you go to the park. A quick google search turned up a few options.

Most hotels won't allow you to leave a dog unattended, even if crated.

There are doggy-daycares, but all the ones we've investigated keep 'business hours' and open no earlier than 7am and close no later than 5 or 6 pm. Not good hours if you're a rope drop to closing person, especially once you factor in 'commute time' to and from the facility. We only looked at weekdays, no idea if they're even open on weekends.

Also, most of them required a 'meet and greet' before accepting your pet, impossible if you're not local and you'll be stuck if you're already in Anaheim and they decide they don't want your doggo.

The other obstacle for us was that they were all 'group settings' and our dog does not 'play well with others'.

It turned out for us that we'd have had to board our dog overnight for the 5-7 days we'd be there, even if we could have found a place to take him without an 'interview'. That wouldn't work for us (or him) at all.

I don't know your doggo's 'issues', but there are pet sitters who will come to your room for the day. That didn't work for DH, he wouldn't want some stranger hanging out in our room, especially someone we didn't have a prior 'relationship' with.

We have been extremely spoiled by Best Friends at WDW. I don't know why Disney can't or won't partner with them for DLR. I've sent IDK how many emails to them suggesting it.

Thank you for the replies. I was not sure if anyone had any experience with the hotels. I did look into local boarding and daycares and was not sure if anyone is familiar with a good one. We are not always open to close people so could work around daycare hours. Our main purpose would be to get on Tiana's Bayou Adventure and soak in the Christmas atmosphere before our keys expire. Sorry I was vague on her issues as she is bald from neglect and abuse prior to us getting her we adopted her from rescue 9/07/2024 and so she has skin creams and medications so it can be a lot of work for a pet sitter in addition to our other 2 that are easier. Thank you again for the replies.

God bless you for taking her in. As my Gran used to say "You've earned another jewel in your Heavenly crown".

I agree it sounds like the 'specialist care' your doggo would need probably rules out a sitter, but I'd think you'd have better chance of finding one who would do the care she needs as opposed to a daycare setting with multiple dogs to look after.

Our dog was a rescue, too. I don't know the 'emotional state' of your dog, but I know ours wouldn't have been happy or secure to have been left in a 'strange place', even in good care, after we'd only had him for a couple of months.
