My family and I are booked on the Peru ABD trip next month and we were wondering if anyone had recommendations on items to pack. When we went to China in 2010 past travelers had great advice!

I was thinking a pair of water/hiking shoe would be good. Merrell makes a pair I wore almost everyday on a trip to Costa Rica.

Thank you!

I'm sure you'll get responses from Disers who have been more recently, but fwiw, here is a link http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1853771 to the thread from right when I got back in 2008 (:scared1: I can't believe it's been that long!)

The main thing I remember is that we were glad of our layers - especially our fleece pullovers, glad of our good hiking boots/shoes, and glad we'd gotten good batteries.

I'm pretty sure the hotels have changed in recent years, so if you do read the old thread, keep that in mind.

You are going to love this trip!

I agree with layers and a fleece or light jacket. We found that moisture wicking/ tech shirts worked well. The mornings were sometimes misty and cotton clothes tended to leave a clammy feeling for the day. The room at Sol y Luna gets chilly at night so some warm pj's and maybe a pair of slippers would be good. Enjoy your trip!
