I've read some TRs that have included a surprise personalized menu. I would love to do that for my DS or DH when we go next. I would appreciate any information about how this is done & what expense is involved...:)

Thanks!!

I've heard that this is offered at many of the restaurants, but the only one I can confirm is Coral Reef. You call them up and request the personalized menu, and they give you an e mail address to which you can send several pictures and a message. They whip it together, and from what I've seen, they're quite nice! And best of all, it's all free!

We got these at Yachtsman Steakhouse last month for our anniversary. We did not request them or pay for them. We had just noted on our reservation that it was our anniversary and when we were seated we had 2 menus waiting for us, with Mickey & Minnie in wedding attire at each top corner and across the top it said "Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs..." It was a nice surprise that really added magic to our night.

1) It ain't that tough.

2) All menus are on computer.
3) They just type your name below/above the menu items and print.
4) Most eateries can do this.

I tihk you have to call upthe individual restaurants to see what they are willing to do. We are having a diver come down with a sign and have personalized menus at CORAL REEF! It is awesome! We are going in October, and I am sure that other WDW restaurants do it too! You will just have to get the phone numbers and a contact person! It costs NOTHING, but I think they will only do so many per night...you will have to check on that detail!

Is there a thread with phone numbers for the restaurants and what time of the day is the best to call so I don't interupt a very busy time. Thanks everyone....my family would be so surprised!

I took my sister here for her birthday and I had it noted on the reservation and we got a menu that said Happy 10th birthday Samantha. We did not ask for it they just did it. It was the best place we ate at the whole trip.

Iknow that coral reef does this for sure. Not sure about anywhere else.

They can be as simple as "Happy 25th anniversary" or Happy 10th Bday or more elaborate - it is all bout the info that you supply them.

Coral Reef is doing special menus' for DH and I (anniversary) and DD for her HS Graduation. I sent them a bunch of info and will be emailing them pictures that will all be included.

They are very easy to deal with - call wdw dine and they should be able to help you get in touch with the right people. I did the initial phone call (I can't seem to find the number right now) and everything else was done via email.

good luck

oh also so that younger dd and ds don't feel left out they are putting their fav characters on theirs and happy first trip to WDW on theirs since it is their first!!!

I do not know if thereis a thread aobut this or not...Call up the individual restaurants that you are interested in and ask. Coral Reef definitely does it...we are having a diver w/ a sign and personalized menus in October for MNSSHP! Yeah!

I called the wdw dine phone number and they had never heard of this so they transfered me to another person who answered the phone for Alberts (or something). She also put me on hold and when she came back she said Disney doesn't do this at any restaurants and she thinks what I really meant was if we had specialized dietary needs they would bring out a special menu. I know it is done....I DIS! Oh well, even without it we will have a magical time.

Can this be done at any of the character meal spots namely CRT?

1) Only at non-character TS meals.
2) Or, there would be too many requests.
3) The restaurants would be swamped.
4) I am sure you understand.

We are eating at WCC for our sons UNbirthday (we are celebrating our dd's 4th bday and don't want to leave him out so we are doing his UNbirthday the next day...he even has a tshirt made)....how would I go about doing this for him? See my above post...obviously calling WDW-Dine is NOT the answer! :rotfl2: Thank you!

You have to call the individual restaurants...like if you want to have a personalized menu or whatever...you must call, i.e., CORAL REEF...not WDW DINE...I have not heard of them doing this for character meals...just regular TS restaurants...

. . . You have to call the individual restaurants . . .

1) Correct.
2) However, even then, they may refuse.
3) It is up to the individual restaurant AND the individual CM.
4) Plus, it is a matter of having enough CM free time to do something different/special.
5) Sometimes, it simply doesn't work out.

I'm the OP & haven't been able to check back on replies until now because our computer DIED and I was without the Dis for 6 whole days!! :sad2:

Anyway -- I appreciate all the great advice! :thumbsup2

We don't have a special event like a birthday or anniversary...is that necessary?

Thanks -
