Personal DVD Rental Qs

Hi! I'm thinking of renting personal DVD players at the airport to distract DS4 and DS2. Anyone used the service (InMotion Pictures)? How is their service? Should I rent one for each of my boys or would they be able to share one--screen being so small and all? How much time should I allocate for pick-up and drop-off? Where is the nearest kiosk at MCO if flying AA?

Thanks in advance!

I rented one once. They have two sizes and I think the bigger one would be big enough for your two boys.

Drop off was very easy. I just stuck in in the slot next to the counter. Pick up takes longer since you have to pick your movies and be trained. I rented my in Cinn. so I do not know if they have pickup and dropoff in Orlando.

I don't know if I would do it again.

Thank you for the info. They do pick-up sites in MCO. I've read about the service on the AAA mag. They are offering a discount to AAA members. Still, I'm debating whether it's worth the money. I may just stick with sticker books.:D

Can your two year old use headphones? My niece could not deal with them at that age and I don' t think you would want to broadcast the movie. (Not sure, they even have extrenal speakers)

The other thing is the package is a little bulky. You get the player and a case with a spare battery. On top of my purse and my carryon this was just too much to lug around. The other thing was that you can't watch during take off and landing so I did not finish the movie between Cinn and Boston.

Actually, my 2 year old likes headset, so that wouldn't be a problem. As to finishing the movie, if we decide to rent at all, we'll rent kiddie shows--the wiggles, spongebob, bob the builder, etc--and the running time is usually less than an hour. But you mentioned that picking up the set takes some time and that worries me. I don't want to reserve them now and find that when we get through the security check we don't have enough time to pick them up. But if we don't reserve them, would they have the DVD's we want? The more I think about it, the more I am convinced I should start buying up stickers. Thanks for helping me with this issue! Now on to the packing dilemmas!:D

For those who want to rent the DVD players but not deal with the airport hassles or aren't using airports that offer the service, Inmotion now has a delivery and mailback service for rentals of 4, 6, or 11 days where they mail you the player and DVDs and you mail it back. The price ranges from $80 to $145 and includes shipping. I thought about it and then realized, "Duh, my kids are 10 and 12...they can READ!!!" So instead we went to the local library and checked out a big pile of those serial paperbacks that kids this age love. If your kids are too young for reading to themselves, I think the DVD players are a great idea but I have to remind myself that my "babies" are growing up and just because the technology is available or even affordable doesn't mean it's necessary or appropriate for us.
