I have a few questions about not having everyone in the room stay the same amount of time. Currently, my sister may not be able to stay for the full trip. She may be only able to stay 4 days out of 8. I know you are required to get the same amount of ticket days for everyone in the room. Is it possible, to book a lower number of ticket days, and when we arrive at the resort, upgrade everyone but the sister to a larger number of days?

What can we do to avoid having to pay for park days that she may not be around to use?

Also, after she leaves, is she checked out so that we only get 1 extra adult fee instead of 2 extra adults in the room?

I believe everyone has to get a minimum 2 day ticket. You can then upgrade each to the needed amount of days very easily and every ticket could be upgraded a different period of time. So this should solve your problem.

Thats awesome news. I wasnt sure if you could upgrade the tickets for different number of days after arrival or if all had to be the same even then.

I agree about the tickets. I'm pretty sure you can have everyone get 2 day tix, and then upgrade to what you need.

As far as the room goes, you will have to pay the extra adult fee the whole time, no matter when she leaves. We had this situation last summer. If they are on the reservation, they are on for the entire duration. It's a bit of a bummer.

You can, however, book multiple magical expresses, so your sister would still have transportation back to the airport whichever day she needs it. It also comes in handy when people are coming in at different times

We added my sister on our reservation for our last trip which was 3 weeks ago. She decided to come last minute but only came for 3 days and came in the middle of our trip. She has an annual pass so she did not need tickets. We were able to add her to our reservation for $25/day and she was able to get DME that way as well as her own room key so she could take advantage of EMH. The only thing she couldn't do with us was the dining plan, but just to be clear we did not have to purchase a minimum 2-day pass to get her on the ressie. Never even knew about this option until we called and a CM told us about it.

We only paid the $25/day for the days she was there. We weren't charged the fee for the days she wasn't there.

If your sister is put on the reservation now, she will have to have the same tickets as everyone else and you will pay the extra adult fee for the whole time. With that said, you can get a 1 day ticket for everyone (the 2 day minimum is for free dining) and then upgrade to whatever you need after check in, or you can get everyone the number of park days your sister needs and everyone else upgrade to more days. In order to not pay the extra adult fee for all 8 nights, you can add your sister when you arrive, at which time she can buy her park tickets separately and you will only pay the extra fee for the nights she is there. Not sure how it would work for DME to the resort, but she would be able to take DME back to the airport. Good luck and have a great trip .

Yes exactly! This is what we did. We added her once we got there and only paid for the nights she was there.

The only way to avoid the extra adult charge for the entire trip is to add her once you arrive, this is what we have always done

The person that we added needed magical express to the hotel as well, arrived the same day as us, and had to leave early, so we had to add him beforehand. I guess if he came later into the trip, we wouldn't have had to pay for the days he wasn't there. Its good to know that you can add someone later on though

Definitely! We would have never paid the fee for 10 nights for my sister!! We just would have told her she couldn't come

Well since we are hoping for FD, I will go with the extra person charge and get extra meals. Lol. I'd feel better having her pre-booked anyway for just in case. So we can be sure she can ride the DME to and from the airport.
