Persistence Pays Off

While I know many here feel a FP+ for the MSEP is a waste, my husband and I really wanted one because of our great experience last time as our son would really benefit from having a set spot to view it (even by the flagpole instead of by the castle). So as someone staying off site this trip--which was fine, free 2 bedroom timeshare trumps $200/night for one room--I was a bit disappointed I didn't get this for at my 30 day FP window.

This morning I found a FP+ for the 9 PM MSEP on our last night, May 8th. While we'll be exhausted heading to the airport the next morning (9:56 AM flight), I grabbed it.

We may still try to see the parade standby on the 6th, and if we do, we'll switch this. but otherwise I am glad we got it.

Awesome news. I had the same luck with Wishes for our last night. Having a 4 year old with us, I wanted to have decent spot that we didn't have to camp out 2 hours ahead for. Because of iffy weather we may not see it on our fisrt night, so it was really important to have a back up night.

I completely understand. When my son was 4, he didn't make Wishes. He didn't (and still doesn't) nap and was half asleep in his stroller during MSEP (at the old FP location by the castle). So we left immediately following the parade. We loved the FP+ because we didn't want to camp out.

He is 5-1/2 now and he doesn't "sleep in" so he'll be zonked after our Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise earlier in our stay (going May 3rd). We still aren't planning to see Wishes IN the parks, despite loving Celebrate the Magic and the experience. We will make our exit after the MSEP (with thousands of others ).

Heck... I'll derail my own thread and say I wish they still had that Pixar parade at Hollywood Studios since my son is a HUGE Pixar fan (as am I). Maybe one day I'll make it to Disneyland.
