I am new to the DIS, and this is my first pre-trip report, so please bear with me if I don't know what I'm doing...
It is NOT, however, my first trip to WDW. It is my 7th and DH's 3rd, and I am starting to learn some things, even if it has been 5 years since my last visit. This trip is for our 6th anniversary, which is on October 27th.
I am completely in charge of all the planning, and although the trip is not a surprise to DH, most of the details are. I am really trying to pull out all the stops this time, and have a luxurious, romantic week. DH is not a Disney-lover (but he humors me), and I really want to show him more of what Disney has to offer. I will post my plans here, which will hopefully give others some ideas, and I hope to get some feedback and suggestions as well.
For now, I will start by telling you a little about us:
Me: 32-year-old foodie, wino, world traveler, amateur photographer, and roller coaster junkie (gee, can you tell why I might like Disney?). When I am not dreaming of our WDW trip, I am a part-time attorney in my own law firm, and the rest of the time a happy housewife.
Faves:
park - Epcot
rides - RnRC, Space Ranger Spin
characters: Rafiki, Tigger
, Eeyore
movies - Incredibles, Aladdin
resort - BW
DH: 35-year-old computer geek and amateur home remodeler, who shares my love of food, wine (+ beer), and travel. He puts his geek skills to work full-time at a telecom company, and his remodeling genius shows in every room of our house! I didn't believe in soulmates until I met him almost 10 years ago - and I have been head-over-heels
ever since!
Faves:
park - Epcot
ride - RnRC
movie - Pirates of the Carribean
We haven't chosen to have children yet. We haven't ruled them out, just don't want to unless/until we are sure. I'm sure some of you are thinking 'the clock is ticking, honey'
but if that turns out to be the case when/if we are ready, we both are willing to adopt.
We actually got the nickname "Perpetual Honeymooners" from DH's boss. It's probably because we're always taking week or longer romantic getaways to honeymoon-type spots - Italy, Las Vegas, Mexican Riviera, Napa Valley, and of course Disney! But also I think because, while we are not into lots of PDA or anything, I think when two people are really in love it just shows. I take it as a compliment - especially after 10 years! I wish every couple in the world were as lucky as us - I feel truly blessed. Okay, sorry, I am probably starting to make everyone sick,
so next up: Day by Day Disney plans!!
