I never thought about this before and I am now drawing a blank...
My oldest daughter is now 19 and still lives with us. She is not on our DVC deed (and I have no plans to add her on) so I am going to assume that now that she is an adult, she no longer qualifies for any of the "perks" of our direct membership, correct? I know that if AP's were still being sold, I would be able to buy a discounted pass for her since she is part of our household, but I guess I never thought about the other perks and benefits. She has no plans to travel to WDW without me, but I realize now that she will have to be physically WITH me in order to take advantage of any of the dining or merchandise discounts and she won't be able to go to the Epcot lounge without me either.
Along that same line...what about our 17 year old? Since she is still a minor, I would also assume that I would have to be present with her in order for her to get a merchandise or dining discount correct? She also won't be travelling to WDW without me before she turns 18 so it's moot, but we may be going to HHI next spring (while she is still 17) and I know that the discount is valid there. Would DH or I have to be with her for all her purchases in order for her to get the discount? It's so strange....teens of that age are often independent and when their parent(s) are qualified members, the discount should also extend to the kids too.
