Perfect Christmas Morning

We are planning on having a tree in our room, and bringing all(or most) our presents from home to put under the tree.Traditionally we always let the kids open 3 presents on Christmas Eve,1 for each and one together, which are always snuggley new Winter pajamas, and their gift together is always a Christmas storybook that we usually then read to them in bed as we TRY to get them to go to sleep for Santa to come. Then we would wake up Christmas morning, open the curtains on the window of our room at the GF to see Cinderella Castle. We immediatly order a LAVISH Christmas breakfast from room service, and open presents while we wait.Room service arrives and we set the table, complete with beautiful Christmas centerpiece ordered from the Disney Florist, in front of the window, where we can see our favorite place in the world.

This sounds wonderful!! This will be our first trip to WDW during Christmas and I am sure it will be as magical as you described. Wewill also be ordering a tree from Disney florist or bringing a small one from home, along with some gifts. I think we will do some shopping for each other when we get to Disney. Planning on doing a special breakfast of some sort and a traditional Christmas dinner but havent decided where yet.:bounce:

That Santa's Sleigh Event was AMAZING!! I can't wait to see if they can do that for us.I have been trying so hard to come up with a way to sneak in the presents from "Santa". Not only would we be able to keep the presents a surprise doing it that way,the whole event would be a gift! What Fun!!!!

We are spending our first Christmas at WL this year!!! My kids are older: teens and 20...so I told them the trip to WDW is their gift. But I do plan to bring some surprises along with a small tree. My parents, DB and his family are staying in the Lodge (we are in the Villas) and we plan to meet in the lobby in our red pj's!!!!

We are actually doing an early Christmas with my parents at WDW this year...so I am getting two small christmas trees one for each room with all the trim and I am getting some neat little stocking stuffers for all of us...since the trip is technically my mom and dads gift to us for christmas we are taking them to two character breakfasts, MVMCP and to the tea at the Grand Floridian....(the grown up tea that is )

Absolutely! This is the only way to go, and I am sure your children will NEVER forget it! I can tell you that my parents shipped ALL of my xmas gifts to England and France once year. I did exactly what you described, but I was not at Disney. I was in London.
It has been about 30 years since that happened, and I can tell you that I can remember everything about that vacation.

Reading all of these posts wants me to plan a Christmas trip to WDW. I would love to spend time down in the World during that time of year. Maybe I could conivince my family to do it one year. ;)

Last year was the first year that we spent Christmas Day in WDW (previously we had arrived on the 26th or 27th). We were in a 1-bedroom villa (splurged with a code!) in the WLV and it was wonderful! We checked in on 12/23. After unpacking, we decorated our small tree, put up a few other decorations around the room, and hung icicle lights on the balcony! On Christmas morning there was a gift bag on the door of each room with some candy inside! We ate breakfast in our villa, opened our gifts and then headed to MK to watch the Christmas parade. Then we went back to the villa to cook our Christmas dinner. After dinner we headed back to MK to watch the parade and fireworks (there was a 9 PM parade, 10 PM fireworks and an 11 PM parade). We watched both parades and rode rides because the park emptied out after the first parade and definitely after the fireworks!

The decorations throughout the WL are stunning! There are trees and wreaths everywhere! Be sure to go over the villas and check out their tree as well!

This year we are having Christmas morning at home and then will drive to WDW and check into POR in the afternoon. We are hoping to have Christmas dinner at Boatwrights - yummy! My DD's 18th birthday is 12/26 - this will be the 3rd birthday she's celebrated in WDW which is always special!

Have a great time in WDW on Christmas! It is crowded, but with all of the decorations and the holiday spirit, it is the best time at WDW!! :p

Your Christmas at the WLV sounded so lovely. I could almost hear and see everything you wrote about. I would have liked to have been walking under your balcony that night to see the beautiful icicle lights you strung there. Christmas at Disney will be my next secret plan. Thanks for giving me a push!
All the best, Wilma:bounce:  :bounce: :bounce:

Just a little story from our Christmas 2 years ago at CSR. Our youngest was a little upset at not being home for Christmas morning. He mostly got over it after we decorated our room with a tiny tree and some small strands of lights brought from home. (Also the great decorations all over WDW and attending the CP helped!).
We decided to draw names and each buy one special Disney gift ($25 limit) for another family member to open on Christmas morning. That way, everyone got a special present (even though our other presents were waiting to open when we got home ;) ).
We all had fun shopping and DH and I helped the kids shop. Our youngest was 10 and this worked for us.
I loved Christmas at WDW and we are going to be back there again this Christmas!
