I did a search & checked the reviews, but no current ones for my questions.

Anyone know if the breakfast & lunch buffets are still there?

Is there an end date, or is it now ongoing?

If still available, are the buffets on the DDP (1TS, !QS, 2 snacks plan) & count as a QS, not TS?

How does it work? Are all stations & all items on the buffet, or only select items?

For instance, if I want nachos & pasta, do I get the regular size portions, or small portions. Can't imagine getting the full size portions! I can't eat a full portion of either - DH & I always share one item.

Am I only allowed one entree item if on the DDP? It would be nice to have small portions of several entree items.

Are the desserts (bakery & ice cream) on the buffet & unlimited?

I can't imagine that all items are offered & unlimited - OMG, that's a lot of food for even a buffet!

We were there last month and both breakfast and lunch continue to be buffet. There are multiple station and you can pick and choose anything you like from any of them. When we were there there was someone at most of the station and you could ask for a small or larger serving. I have heard most of the stations are now self serve. There was a carving station I am sure remains served and the ice cream. EVERYTHING is part of the buffet. Both meals were good but we REALLY enjoyed lunch. There is a fruit bar at both that was a real treat and dessert were really nice. The variety at both meals was way above most character buffets and the quality was almost as good. It is one CS credit..Yep. that's right a GREAT deal. You however can no longer get any single item such as just an order of fries, its buffet or nothing. Dinner remains a menu restaurant. We tipped for the buffet even though it is CS. You have someone to sit you and a waiter brings drinks and clears dishes. Our lunch waiter was GREAT. The food was the same as we got for dinner there one night. We were very pleased.

Thanks MsSandra for your response - big help. Sounds like an usually extensive buffet compared to other Disney buffets.......and it's only a QS! We'll definitely give it a try.

When did Pepper Market become a buffet??? When we ate there two years ago you paid for individual entrees...

We love the Pepper Market, eat there at least once on every trip for lunch and were just there in October. Am I the only one who is not happy that they switched to a buffet style? I really liked the "made to order" stations the way they were :sad2:

Continuing on this topic, did you notice that Rix grab-n-go had more options now if you just want a quick B or L, or do they have the same offerings as before? DH often just gets a breakfast plate from PM to bring back to the room and we split it while getting ready for our day. Obviously can't do that with the buffet now. Did Rix have full breakfast plates, or still the same items like breakfast crossant sandwich, fruit cup, etc.

I don't mind the buffet set up at all, actually happy with it as long as the food is the same and varied. Looking forward to a lunch buffet on arrival or departure day! We just aren't big breakfast eaters and both of us at a breakfast buffet would be a waste.

I thought the hot breakfast option there were very limited. They had a few breakfast sandwiches and some sort of mini quiche like thing:confused:. The did have lots of muffins and fruit and some cereals and such.

They started with a buffet in December and did a trial run through early January. They have since kept it going because apparently it was successful. It's a buffet for breakfast and lunch only, dinner is the same as it always was. I have yet to experience the buffet but the idea of it being all you care to eat for a QS credit is pretty appealing.

I didn't think I'd like the new buffet style but was suprised. We were there a couple weeks ago and loved it. All the same stations are still there with pretty much the same items available and a few new ones. The food was excellent and its all you can eat from any of the stations. A very good use of a QS credit on DDP. I hope they keep it QS.

So it's not your typical Disney buffet? Good different options to choose from?

No, not at all like the other buffets. It doesn't have expensive items like shrimp, prime rib etc. It does have excellent mexican dishes, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, salads etc. Selection is very good.

It's a bargain for a CS credit. I can't see how they could make it a TS unless they added far more expensive items but then that would make it just like the other buffets.

Well, then we'll have to try it. Like I said before, the Pepper Market was always one of our favorite CS restaurants - more for the variety of choices unlike a lot of the other CS places who all seem to serve the same things. Can't wait to see now for myself. Thanks.

Thanks for the update on Rix. As I said, we are not big breakfast eaters but now and then do like to take something substantial back to the room while we get ready for the day. Most days we just grab a breakfast sandwich or a bagel or a fruit cup & muffin from Rix, but over the course of a two week stay we get the full breakfast maybe 3 or 4 times since we get tired of the Rix stuff. I'll adjust our plans accordingly, maybe will go up to the breakfast once to try it, but that would mean probably just a snack for lunch for us.

We will be arriving for our first stay at CSR around 3:30 in the afternoon. I'm sure we'll be starving! My plan was to eat at the Pepper Market upon arrival. Since it switches from a buffet at lunch to more traditional QS at dinner, I am wondering if it will be open to eat at that odd time of day? Has anyone had any experience with that? I guess we could do grab and go thing from Rix in the event that PM isn't serving due to changeover. Any info is appreciated :)

PM does close down between meals, IIRC dinner started at 4pm. Often there are dinner specials (different from the normal menu) between 5pm and 8pm or when they run out. It's worth waiting for 4pm as opposed to just getting grab-n-go.

I was afraid of that..thanks for the info. Our flight lands at 2:20, so by the time we check in..it will probably be close to four anyway, now that I think about it :)

so, is it official that it is continuing?? We will be at WDW in June and this sounds like a great option for CS. I heard that CSR is a large resort. If we take the bus from another park does it drop us off close to Pepper Market?

The buses make several stops at CSR. I believe Station #1 is what you want. Just tell the driver you want the restaurants and they'll let you know which one to get off at.

I bet it wont stay a CS credit for long.

It's QS according to the 2012 dining plan brochure so if they do change it to TS, it wouldn't be until 2013. Considering that CSR already has a TS and the other QS option there is very minimal, I doubt they would switch Pepper Market to TS. I would say they'd do away with the buffet and go back to normal, before they'd change it to TS.
