People who live at college and did a Fall CP: where did you live when you came back?

So, I'm thinking about doing the CP (I was accepted for Fall 2010, but I still haven't decided... gotta do that soon!). Whether I go this fall or reapply for a semester that will work better, I definitely want to go in the fall. There's a variety of reasons for this, but mostly because of all the events at WDW during that time of year (MNSSHP, MVMCP, F&W, Osbourne Lights). The thing is though... I have no idea what I would do about housing when I get back in January. I live in a dorm right now, and foresee living on-campus the rest of my time at this university. Only, I'm pretty sure that if I'm not there in the fall, there won't be space for me when I come back (since housing is somewhat limited at my school). I could apply for housing again for the next year, but since they only distribute housing in full year contracts I don't think they can do anything for me when I get back. There are apartments around campus, but they're a little more expensive and it seems like it would be difficult to arrange something like that from Florida. Commuting from home is not an option.

So... I'm wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem? Or, if you did Fall (or are planning on doing Fall), what did you do about housing when you came back?

Thanks!

I hear ya!! For my school you have to get a hold of the housing office in November I believe they said to tell them that you really are still coming back. My friend who did the CP last semester is living on campus in a dorm, she was limited on here she could go but she did get into a dorm. So all we have to do is let the school know now that we are going away for the fall semester and call them to remind them we are coming back in the spring kinda thing!!

Does your school have study abroad options? Because if they do, you might be able to work it out that you switch with someone studying abroad for the spring semester.

That's what I did when I studied abroad fall of my junior year, I switched with one of my friends who went abroad in the spring. So I'm guessing you could do the same thing with the CP!

That seems like something you need to talk to your school's housing office. I mean, what do they do for mid-year transfers? Or kids who study abroad for a semester? I guess worst case scenario is that you end up paying for a full year of housing, but I can't see how they'd let that happen.

Definitely make an appointment at the Housing office though. It all depends on your school.

I'm planing on doing the program fall 2011. But after my return I think I'm going to try to live back at my appartment or live on campus at one of the dorms.
If I were you, I would call the housing office number and get the answer directly. I'm sure they would have a place for you to live (u are a student!) and I really don't think they would make you pay an entire year for housing. That would be crazy!

Just talk to someone in the department about it, is my best advice.
