make me crazy!!! I was at work today and a co-worker told me how she was finished. I am a very organized person, but there has never been a year and I'm sure never will be a year that I am done shopping, AND wrapping on December 5th. I was stunned!
I guess I can't do it because I like to enjoy each season and just don't want to think about Christmas gifts until the china from Thanksgiving dinner is tucked away, lol. But then I can get overwhelmed during these weeks, and wish I didn't have so much to do. I think I am very jealous. :guilty:

I am close to being done shopping, but I didn't really start until the day after Thanksgiving except for stuff that I had picked up way ahead.

For me, the shopping and wrapping is part of enjoying the season. Doing it ahead would take away some of the activities we enjoy as part of getting ready for Christmas. We don't do huge amounts of gifts, so it's not overwhelming.

I feel your pain. I have not bought a single thing yet. My plan is to get up and go early tomorrow morning to Target to at least get started. My college student, at this point is going to get nothing. I have asked half a dozen times for suggestions, and have yet to get one. Hope you don't get too overwhelmed!

Are you talking about me;)

I try to make an effort every year to be done with Christmas shopping by Thanksgiving by no later than Dec 5. I have to ship ALOT of presents so this is one reason for the deadline. I also like to just enjoy the holiday season withe the parties and concerts and Christmas pagents or whatever. I don't want to be clogged in the stores and traffic worrying about trying to grab something.

I guess I make you crazy then! I can't stand the last minute, wall to wall people Christmas shopping. All my present buying was done weeks ago. We put our main tree up this morning and the presents will all be wrapped by tomorrow to go underneath it.

I am close to finished, and everything gets wrapped and is put under the tree as I get it. But I also want to enjoy my tree while I can since I know I won't be at my apartment on Christmas day.

All I have left to buy for is my mom, sister, aunt, and one of my cousins. I also need to bake cookies, which I will be doing next weekend, and I'm hoping to get to Philly the weekend after that. Then the week of Christmas I won't have to worry about doing anything.

i've gotten half of mine done. i will get a few things next week before we leave for disney, but then most of the kids i'm buying for will get something from disney... and i'll be getting a few folks the perfume in Norway.

i'm carrying an empty suitcase with us.

yeah, i know a few folks who start christmas shopping in january.

My shopping is almost done, I have just a few more things to pick up and wrapping is a little over half done. I get alot done while dc are in school.:goodvibes

I am mostly done. I just got done wrapping what I have bought so far. This is the first chance all of the kids have been out of the house at the same time so I took advantage of it. I have to get one more small thing for DS17, stocking stuffers and gifts for our Godchildren (3 of them) and then I am done.

My goal is to be done by next Friday. I'm almost there. First of all like the others mentioned I don't want to be worrying about this when I could be just enjoying Christmas, and second I know that the stores are winding down on their inventory levels. I'd rather buy when everything is still there and I'm not digging through the crud nobody else wanted.

I used to work retail and HAD to be done by Thanksgiving, b/c after that I was working all day, every day, helping other people get their presents. I guess I got in the habit and am usually still done by then. I kick off my shopping the first Monday after Halloween (when DD was little, this was when I could get the best prices on leftover costumes to give as dress up ;)). I like the empty stores, full selection, and non-rushed feeling. I don't mind being out and about in the December crowds, but only if there's no desperation on my part of needing to get a gift.

OTOH, one year, November was crazy, we went to WDW right after Thanksgiving, then came home with everyone sick. I went to Target on December 20 and filled two carts in two hours, doing every single bit of my shopping at once, and it all went in bags that year instead of pretty wrapping. And it was still Christmas. :santa: So I think whatever works for anyone is fine!

All done shopping, with just a few little stocking stuffers for my DS left to get. I will wrap all the gifts by next weekend hopefully. I like the tree sparkling with all the pretty presents under it. I shop all year for fun things to decorate the presents with, so it's fun to get out the big box I've been adding to. Don't worry, there is lots of time left. ;) And when all else fails, there's always Walgreens.

This year I am almost done. I did not want to spend December rushing around. We are so busy all the time that the little down time we have I wanted to spend doing fun holiday stuff with the kids and not trudging through the stores. I am hoping to be done with wrapping what I have in a few days.

I'm done shopping and have about 3/4 of everything wrapped. :cool1:

My tree is up and I have a couple of things bought and wrapped however that is where the story ends.

I think I am doing pretty good.:yay: Usually I am shopping last minute.

Oh! Plus I ordered Christmas cards and got them the other day. Now I need to go get some pics copied and I can send them out.

Yep, everything is done and wrapped. This was mainly because I like to collectively buy my presents for people over the year. Other than that I bought a few things on Black Friday, waited for something to come in the mail and I'm done.

I love wrapping presents so that's definitely done as well.

Shopping is almost finished. But wrapping is done in December 24th at midnight. Family tradition. ;)

The holiday season is meant to be savored. If you are done with everything, then what do you do with all that free time? Can't spend time with friends - they are all out shopping!

My shopping was all done last week.. Did it all online and each day more packages are arriving..:santa:

But wrapping? I have to be "in the mood" - preferably the tree is up - have Christmas music playing in the background - and depending on who I'm wrapping for (my DD, her DH, my DGD) I prefer that they not even be home.. My "adult" DD is the worst - nosey, nosey, nosey.. LOL..

I normally have all my shopping done by the first of October. I wrap the gifts during November. I start shopping for next Christmas as soon as Christmas is over. When I see something I think would be appropriate, I buy it. I don't like fighting the Christmas crowds and I don't like having to come up with all the money at one time. This way, it is spread out and I have no stress around the holidays.
