People think I'm nuts, but I'm sure you'll understand. LOL

I'm sure I'm like most people on this board. Over planners, right? I absolutely LOVE to plan our vacations (Disney, cruises or otherwise). We will be on the "free for the first time" dining plan and I just went to allears and selected everywhere we were want to eat for our CS and TS meals. I then copy/pasted all of those menus onto my word doc and printed them out. This way I can look at them and decide what we would choose for our dinners. It's not so much that I want to absolutely make a decision NOW (since it's another 4 months before we go) but I love to see all the selections and review them often. LOL Who else does this? Or am I alone in this crazy world?

Nope, you are not alone! I printed out all the possible places I thought we might like to try so I could narrow down my choices before I called to make ADR's.

I hope you're not crazy, 'cause I'd be right there with you! I have the menus for every counter service in all the parks and DTD printed out that stays in my planning notebook. Two trips ago I had the menus from the TS that I had ADRs for, too.

detailed planning for our trips. We've been to Disney a few times now so the next couple of trips are on cruise control until our kids get into another age range.

On an earlier trip I printed out the CS locations menus that I thought we might be interested in. We drove down on that trip so my wife had a chance to read through it and discuss where we might want to go. We didn't go as far as schedule CS meals but we knew which ones in which areas we would prefer to go to.

Also, I was in one of our storage areas and I ran across a binder I put together for a trip to the beach. It had the menus and directions from our beach house for restaurants in that area with reviews from travel and dining sites. It was an area we had never been to before and we were meeting my in laws at the house.

I did this when we brought my parents! and when you are on the FDP - at Mama Melrose - sometimes they can take a long time to take orders, or return, so we know what we want when we sit down - we order our drinks, then quickly peruse the menus (there are often changes to some menus) then when they bring drinks we put in our order!

I write down the TS restaurants I'm interested in on seperate index cards. I print out the appropriate menus. Then I narrow it down to the top however many choices. Next, I decide which park we're gonna be in on any given day, based on EMH, historical crowd trends, whether Fantasmic is offered, etc.

Finally, I line up the cards in order of each day, based on the park we'll be in. I mix them around and start over. Several times.

Then I come to a final decision, make the ADRs, and second-guess myself for the next 90 days.

Ultimately, though, I come to the point that it is NOT the Apocalypse if my plans don't come together. It saves a lot of stress.
