The new game style reminds me of an arcade type game. Instead of tickets to cash in for a prize, it's credits. I think it's great that if you play well enough, you can still get credits when you lose!
I feel the same way tink, the better you are, the more you get.

Exactly! If you don't like it, then don't read it and be quiet and my apologies for being exasperating, but that's all I'm writing today... it's gambling and gambling so don't expect anyone to stop talking about it, please.

Yes. If you're good at it.
I've played a few times already.
Once I played, paid out 21 credits, I got back 17. So I lost 4 credits.
Another time I played and paid out the 21 credits, I got back a whopping 6! That time I lost 15 credits.

Yes, I did win more in some of the other games, but, there is no guarantee that you can actually come out ahead every time in the game.

They are charging credits to play - but the pay out is much greater. Makes it interesting. I really like the new game. Not sure the point in charging, but it is so small an amount - it doesnt bother me.

I would be more than happy to help you with this game. Once you get the hang of it...it really is alot of fun!!!

Oh and Hagen in your opinion it is gambling not everyone holds that same opinion.

Gambling!! I never even thought of that....my thought was why should it be a pay for play when we are disconnected so much...I know it is not my end which the diconnect happens at.. I have cable and I am still on line when this happens...I don't know how many times I'll be playing Pirates (which I can never win at because im just begining) or Haunted Mansion and I get disconnected..So I guess we pay, play and hope we can finish the game

:cheer2: :wizard:

If this is gambling, then it is not the kind of gambling you can compare to slot machines. It is not that risky to play, and the majority of the time, you are getting so much more back. It is not based on randomness or luckiness, but on skill.

I made about 6000 credits today. That is counting the amount of credits I spent on getting through 10 games of each of the 3 levels with disconnections and loses. If this is gambling, than the gambling statistics are almost completely on our side!

QWhy does it say I have to pay credits to play?
AThe game now costs credits to play. But if you win you get more credits back.

And how do I know that someone is going to come up and post something like but it is still gambling. What ever, who cares its for fun and here is your answer.

gambling is gambling, you can call it what ever you want though.

Hey, Mal, you're right. It is my opinion. It is your opinion that it is not gambling, but not everybody holds that opinion, either. I noticed both sides of this, too.

Thanks!

Eh... I can see everyone's point on both sides of this. Though it's way better than say Chuck E Cheeses (where people take their kids all the time) where people pay $20 for tokens, their kids play games, then turn in their won tickets to get two dollars worth of toys. You're kind of playing for the fun of playing the games instead of the toys the kids get from them in that case.

At least the odds are way in your favor in this case. All you have to do is hit another ship with a cannon ball 3-4 times throughout the entire game to get your credits back. Once you get used to it, it's really not that difficult. I can see why they'd make us pay, to keep sore losers from quitting when it looks like they'll lose. Though really that's not so bad in Pirates, since it's usually easier to beat the computer player than a real one.
I actually wouldn't mind them doing it to Haunted, because I've almost completely stopped playing because of all the times people quit out (and yes quit, not dc, I see them in the lobby moments later) because I'm playing well.

I was thinking of Chuck E taking my money for those prizes too, lol I am almost sure they did the credit pay to play to address the quit issue and would not be surprised to see it at the mansion.

Not to cause problems...but I really got the impression that comment was in response to the person just before who pretty much told all the people who were complaining about it to be quiet. It looked like Hagen was trying to just point out that it was rude to expect everyone to be quiet. That's the impression I got, anyway.
