Hi,

For those who live in or near Pensacola Beach area, how long does it take to travel from Pencola Beach public beach area to Perdido Key?

What route should I take?

And can you tell me where Orange beach is?

Thanks for the help.

I'd guess 40-45 minutes.

Leaving the beach, you'll cross the bob sikes bridge (where the toll booths are) go through gulf breeze, then cross the three-mile bridge.

When you exit the bridge, you'll want to veer left in order to get on Bayfront parkway...stay on bayfront..will become Main street.
Eventually you'll reach Barrancas Ave (4 Lane). Turn left.

This will run into Pace Blvd. Turn left on Pace Blvd.

This road will take you to Perdido Key. Be warned: this road will change names about 4 times before you reach Perdido Key.

Once you reach Perdido Key, continue west until you reach Alabama....cross the Alabama Point Bridge, You'll be in Orange Beach. I'd guess it would take an hour to go from P'cola Beach to Orange Beach.

It's really pretty easy to get there, in spite of how the directions may sound.

Good Luck.

Thanks, Steve.

I am debating where exactly to stay on our next trip.

I don't know whether to stay in PB and then drive over to Perdido to explore or vice-versa.

I am discovering the rates at the PB hotels have really risen since our stay last year.

Perdido seems less pricy hotelwise.

Hey Herc! :)

If staying in the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores area is an option, then I can reccomend this place Gulf Shores State Park Resort .

It's a motel/resort owned and operated by the State Parks Dept. and it's right on the beach east of Gulf Shores. . nothing too fancy, but it has a nice decent rooms and a nice restaurant /lounge, and the rates are generally lower then the other places on the beach. . . :)

Oh, and whether you stay in Florida and come to Alabama to sight-see or vice-versa; right on the state line there's a place right on the border there's a place called the "Flora-Bama Lounge". . it's a pretty unique and cool place to have lunch and couple drinks. . . :)

Thanks Willy! I'll check it out. This is such a beautiful area!
