Chapter 11. Changes....kinda.

Sorry I haven't been around the last few days. I've been busy with work. My senior pastor is planning on taking the month of July off. The youth director is overseas for the summer and we're short an assistant pastor. That leaves me as the only full-time staff member working......

I'm wiped out......and have to leave in 1/2 hour for another meeting....

Anyhow......here are some changes to our 2010 trip.......already.

2010

So I was chatting with Wendy. She was talking with her friend with the 4 kids and it looks like they may skip the 2010 trip in favor of the 2012 trip. Her two youngest ones will be 3 and 4 in 2012 and more manageable then and more able to enjoy some of the stuff going on. So now it's

If it remains this way, it clarifies things immensely. I'll be able to babysit the kids on my own without having to recruit anyone else to help me out. That way Kim, Allan, Wendy and Derek can have a few nice dinners out and the guys can head out on their own and do their single guy thing (DisneyQuest, ESPN, Jellyrolls and the like).

The dates are coming into focus a bit more. It's looking right now that at least the guys and I will fly out Friday Evening FEBRUARY 5th arriving in Orlando SATURDAY morning FEBRUARY 6th and departing Sunday evening FEBRUARY 14th. Again for anyone traveling around the same time--February 6-14th. I may opt to stay a few extra days, but it would be over President's Weekend and I don't know about the crowds....I sure would like the alone time though.

I did some research as would any other OTP (obsessive trip planner as KathyRN calls it...are you down with OTP yeah, you know me....) would do. The Cheerleaders will be there again both weekends we are there. This means planning must be done to avoid DHS on the weekends as the Cheerleaders use this as their transportation hub and sometimes use the Indiana Jones Theatre to compete. You can check out www.Varsity.com to see when competitions will be...

I also google any conferences and conventions in Orlando and at the Swan and Dolphin to see if that may affect WDW attendance. It doesn't look like there will be anything major in town. the PGA has it's annual trade show at the end of January and I think there's also a huge (maybe not so huge now) Home Builders Trade Show sometime near MLK weekend.....Right now it looks like we're in the clear...

I looked up historical hours for February 2009 to get a general idea of hours and EMHs as well. Traditionally, Blizzard Beach has had it's rehab during Jan/Feb, but because of the major wave pool rehab at TL, TL had it's rehab most of the winter of 09. I hope it's BB that's in rehab...I LOVE TL.....

I have not, I repeat, have not, thought about any bags, shoes, backpacks, skorts, shorts, stretchy shorts, matching T-shirts, mousekeeping envelopes, camera equipment, luggage or window decor......YET. Shoot me if I talk about skorts....

Sounds like good plans! I really wish we could do Februrary rather than have to wait for next June!! There is one teacher that ds could get this year who is a Disney freak like us. She is actually a DVC member. She also likes to do WDW during Mardi Gras. She is also a very good teacher academically. Please pray for us to get this teacher next year!!
We only get 2 days off from school for Mardi Gras next year. Those 2 are by a weekend so that means we have 4 days. If we want to stay longer she will probably okay it. I just want to make sure that he is on top of his game and will not suffer from being taken out of school for 2-3 days. So, this may be sort of a last minute decision. Luckily, in February you can still plan a pretty good trip "last minute". I'm just not sure about the ADR's, though.
