Chapter 25. An Arizona Mini-TR.
Okay, I took the day off; paid bills; did a little WDW planning (more on that later); ate; napped and now I'm ready to give the deets about our trip to Scottsdale, AZ.
Thursday, August 27th
We left at about 9:30am from Wendy and Derek's house. It's about a 7 hour drive to Scottsdale. I drove my 4Runner and Wendy drove her Lexus. Derek, Erin and Dylan rode with me. Ashlyn and Wendy's friend, Kim (another Kim), drove with Wendy.
The trip was uneventful other than the temperature readings as we drove through the CA desert into the AZ desert. It went from about 80 then to 90 then to 100 then to 110 and ended up around 113 when we arrived in Scottsdale at 4pm-ish.

Erin and her new discovery.....American Girl Dolls! This is Molly.
Dylan..Apparently the inability to take a normal picture is genetic.
Erin...and the genetics kick in..
We checked in around 5:00pm. We stopped at the grocery store to get supplies. Derek unpacked and drove off to the airport to pick up my Aunt and Uncle, Wendy's parents.
Here are some pix of the resort that I forgot to take on the first day. It's the Kierland Westin in Scottsdale. It's their timeshare villas. Wendy and Derek and my aunt and uncle own a boatload of Westin timeshares, as well as DVC.
Great outdoor seating areas. I'm sure it's great during the winter--in the summer, not so much.
The bar area. The bar area will make a return appearance later...
The Adult 24 hour Pool. This too will make a return appearance:
Our building with the family pool in the foreground. It was a great location as we were able to walk out the door, down a flight of stairs and we were at the pool.
Here are some pics of Wendy's 2-bedroom villa that she shared with her parents. Kim and I shared a one-bedroom villa one floor up. Keep your minds out of the gutter....I slept on the couch.

We didn't do much when Derek arrived with Wendy's parents. I think we went to dinner and then stopped by the concierge to sign up for the Owner's Update.
