Enjoy your day Wendy!!! Get yourself a foot massage too.
Good luck!!!

I did that on Sunday :thumbsup2 I practically fell asleep during my Foot Fantasy pedicure it felt so good... :cloud9:

I feel so bad for Erin! I hope she's feeling better!

With my inductions, I went into the hospital with full make-up and hair! Everyone who saw the pictures commented on how good I looked for just giving birth. I didn't mention the 2 inches of make-up I'd applied to make it last!;)

Erin's doing better, thanks for asking... fever all gone and now just coughing... which will probably linger for a bit. She's getting better at taking her medicine too...

You crack me up (full make up and hair)! A woman after my own heart. You KNOW how many pictures are going to be taken so you've got to look good for posterity, right? Hee hee hee. No one needs to know that's not how you roll out of bed in the morning. Shhhhhhh...

1. Sorry I have been MIA. I have been staying at my grandma's all summer with no internet connection.
2. I am sorry Erin is sick. :wizard: that she is well soon!
3. How ya feelin Wendy?! Thinkin' about you. Can't wait for pics of the new "O" baby! (and who cares what you look like, you'll be absolutely beautiful...you would have JUST had a baby!)
4. Jordy I hope all's well at Church Camp!

Even better than a scheduled induction is a scheduled c-section.... I didn't even have to do any work, so my makeup and hair looked perfect after having my second daughter! I looked pretty darn good in those pictures!!:cool1:

:lmao: i love bill cosby!!! i crack up every time i see this skit and he describes his wife's ob/gyn as, "sitting there like johnny bench." :rotfl2:

for anyone who hasn't seen this, WATCH THESE!

I know, that show is hilarious. My DH CRIES when he watches it 'cause he's laughing so hard, he can quote the whole thing, it's so funny.

Good luck Wendy! I hope everything goes smoothly and that Erin keeps taking her medicine! I'll be praying that #3 is healthy and named soon! :)
Oh, and I hope Jordan is having a good time at camp too!

PHEW.... I'm back from the shore :beach:
and have caught up with over 20 pages!!!

Good luck Wendy - have a safe delivery and a beautiful healthy baby!

Hope Erin is feeling better...

Jordan - you make quite a dashing pirate...

Saw a few peeps in Cape May and of course thought of you...

:rotfl:

Hi all... off to the hospital in a few (10:30pm PST)... so all went "according to plan" and we had our traditional family dinner... took our traditional photos... and now we're just waiting to go to the hospital to check in. Baby #3 cooperated and I'll have my scheduled induction as planned. Hee hee.

Will post soon with news... have a nice night all!

:thumbsup2

I wonder if Wendy is going to hear all us disers in her head chanting...........

"Push em out, shove em out, waaaaay out!"

Go Wendy Go!! Today is the big day. Hope everything is going well. Can't wait to read all about it!!:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

Hi all! Ok... so about 12 hours ago little .... (drum roll please....)

Ashlyn Alexis Akari Okada arrived on the scene!

princess: princess: princess: princess:

It's been a long day but the entire labor and delivery went very smoothly and it was my easiest yet. Only had maybe 5-10 (at most) bad contractions... started having some stronger contractions around 3:30am last night and then was given Nubane (ahhhhhh) - a painkiller - and was able to sleep hard for a few hours... then got up around 6am to remove the Cervidel (sp?) - something that I was given to soften the cervix - and then prepared to start Pitocin at around 7ish. I was already dilating on my own (around 6 cm by that time) so I don't think they gave me much Pitocin and I seemed to be progressing well. Even before my contractions were feeling bad, I got my epidural around 7:45 or 8:00... then I was fully dilated around 10am and so then they called my doctor (who was across the street at his office). My FIL gloved up just in case baby came faster than expected (the nurse that was working with me worked with my FIL for years and was going to let him deliver if my dr didn't make it in time) but I was able to get through a few strong contractions and held out til my dr arrived. Then I was able to push with my contractions and after about three sets of contractions, baby was out! Everything was pretty smooth and quick, amazingly. :thumbsup2

So it went well but I was reaaaaaaaaally sleepy most of the day while the Nubane wore off. So every spare moment until around 4pm I was napping...

My inlaws were there during the delivery (video and camera in hand) and then my folks brought the kids about 10 minutes after I delivered so they were so excited to see the baby. Erin of course gushed all over her and Dylan was interested periodically but probably didn't know why (ha). Everyone was there until around 1pm and then everyone went home and I was able to sleep for a while... Derek came back a few hours later (after printing our favor labels and updating our website and sending out the email announcement). Then my folks came back, we had some family friends visit and also a couple of my friends from work... so it was a fun evening. :grouphug:

Now we're just settling in for the night (hopefully) and Ashlyn is laying in her bassinet after eating a little bit. Will try to get some sleep... zzzzz.

Here is our website if you're interested...

Enjoy and I'll post again later. Thanks for all your support!

Welcome little Ashlyn!!:lovestruc

Congratulations Wendy, Derek, Erin and Dylan - and of course Uncle Jordy!:grouphug:

I am so happy to hear that everything went well and you have a healthy baby girl! Can't wait to see the pics!

I have been MIA lately - just trying to catch up with all of my babysitting, but I have been watching for this little girl! Now get some rest Wendy!

Many congratulations, wendy derek erin and dylan on the safe arrival of Ashlyn. sounds like everything went very straighforward for you, its very intersting for me to hear how things are done in the US, being a midwife here in the UK.

Many congratulations again
