Well, the pace was definitely slower today. .. only 3.5 pages. .. I could actually keep up. . .thanks for the update. .. It helped to entertain me this morning. . .

Hi Jordan :wave2: I finally made it over to part Deux! I go away to WDW for a few days and come home to find your old thread closed and a new thread started and already 27 pages in! Panic started to set in but I am finally caught up now and loving the updates!

Thanks....I'm really not that funny in real life....

Do looks count? Hee hee just kidding.

Wendy and I are more brother/sister than cousin/cousin, but we know who's more mature....and it's not me....

Brother-sister makes that Commando comment even more weird. Ha ha ha ha. :scared1:

I am definitely not the weakest link. I may be too strict sometimes...

Yup - Jordan's the disciplinarian of the caregivers... then maybe me and Derek... then my folks... then Derek's folks... in that order. He hones in on the kids' mischevious side... he knows what's going on... ha ha ha.

OMG!! Too funny! We have to discipline the MIL almost as much as we discipline DD8. MIL is the only person she gets away with this for. I have to tell my MIL to NOT let her get away with that. I know she enjoys what she does for her and DD10 too, but DD8 comes back from there more rotten than ever. She straightens out well at home though b/c we don't put up with that cr-- ......

Your right though, there is a LOT to say for grandparent time. I am sooo appreciative my kids can have that time with her. I am hoping to spoil my grandkids worse than ever!! By that time, i hope to have DVC!!

I hear you... we have to be somewhat lenient because our parents are our primary caregivers while we're at work, so if we're too hard on them they could just up and say "Fine, then we're not watching the kids anymore" and then we'd be up a creek... ha ha ha ha ha. But they're learning that if they're too soft, it leads to out of control kids later on, so they're cracking down on that so I'm glad... and hopefully they'll stop buying so many toys (big ones too) because they complain that our house is getting too cluttered with toys and I'm all, "But where did they get this one? and this one? and this one?" (pointing to all the toys the grandparents got them)... and they say "i know, i know..." ha ha ha. So really, it's their own fault. Ha ha.

But I am glad that they get to spend so much time with them so they really develop a good relationship with them. Mine were either too old or far away so I didn't see them very much growing up.

Erin looks so pleased with her ice cream, love those last two pictures, have never noticed them before, the one of you and derek is the funniest.

I know - I love that one of Derek and Jordan. They can be very corny together... they have the same birthday (2/24) so maybe that's it. Derek's not that amusing all the time, but when he gets in the mood with Jordan, it's pretty comical what they'll do together.

Thanks for the update. I loved the pictures. Wendy I see where your kids get their looks. You are very pretty. I love the pic with Erin eating her mickey ice cream. Jordan it seems like you have been at AK forever. Are you ever going back to Epcot:rolleyes1

Aw. You're very sweet (but a huge fat liar I see... ha ha ha... or in need of an eye exam - too much DISing perhaps :surfweb:). Yes, it's Jordan's mission to get out of AK before we become part of the attractions there. "The Asian family who would never leave" Come one, come all... hurry and see the phenomenon... well, maybe you don't have to hurry since apparently this exhibit will be here forever. Hmmm. Ok, take your time. We'll be here.

I am glad you all were outside with all the pulling of the fingers going on. That could have been a very bad scene had you been inside.

I do not know If I have ever paid any attention to see if anyone is sleeping. I guess that goes on the list for next time.

I have not seen those cut out before. Where are they??

Ewwww (being on the "inside" of the costumes). Now we'll know what the deal is if we ever see a character pass out for no apparent reason.

The sleeping observations often come with down-time. When you're with a group (i.e., moving as slow as your slowest member), you often have time to just hang out and observe your surroundings. And therein lies the jewels of homosapien behavior that most people often pass right by. Hee hee. Also I think it's because I'm sure there are kids who have to take pictures with every single character they see so that can take some time... and so the parent not chained to the kid gets to take advantage of some zzzzzz time. They should probably have cots at all the character meeting spots.

The cutouts I think are right outside one of the shops as you enter into the main hub of AK - where you can split off toward Africa or Dinoland. I think the one towards Africa...

Loved the look on Erins face. She's really gonna enjoy that ice cream.

And the look on my face whenever my kids eat ice cream with their fingers is "Please don't wipe your sticky, goopy hands all over your clothes, hair, parents, etc."

Love the finger photos, who'd have guessed those characters have all that gas? :rotfl:

Obviously all that character visiting is tiring stuff looking at all the sleeping going on :rotfl2:

Morning, we love camp minnie mickey, had the best character interaction there, if you time it right it can be empty. Erin looks so pleased with her icecream, love those last two pictures, have never noticed them before, the one of you and derek is the funniest.

We had good character mojo with Goofy and Donald. The lines were pretty short. The lines for Minnie and Mickey were pretty long

You and Jordan are so sweet together - I'm glad you have each other! BFF, only family! I'm glad you shared your "news" with Derek, too :rotfl2:

As for grandparents - we wouldn't be grandparents without the spoiling part!

And to think our friendship started with a trip to WDW in 1991.

I allow the grandparents the ability to spoil.....

No, I think alot of people are sad - some are just done posting for now - sick of the drama.

I hope they return....

My mom tried it on her neck cuz someone told her it would make it smooth - She got up and down creases instead of sideways ones - I had to fix her up with a good night cream. :goodvibes

so she used the H?

Jordan, loved the update! I laughed at the "pull my finger" jokes - almost woke Jim up :guilty: I never want the character shots, either - looks like you had fun, as well as Goofy! :goodvibes AK must be a great place to sleep!

Doesn't it look like I'm pulling their fingers? It was funny to see that....

Josh

I have been totally lurking and enjoying your trip report.

Of course it is making me want my trip to WDW in Nov to come faster.:woohoo:

So are you going to make up a restroom guide cheat sheet for the rest of us at the end of the trip report? Might come in handy for my future visit!

:welcome: I will be doing a comprehensive list at the end of the report...whenever that is........

Thanks for the update. I loved the pictures. Wendy I see where your kids get their looks. You are very pretty. I love the pic with Erin eating her mickey ice cream. Jordan it seems like you have been at AK forever. Are you ever going back to Epcot:rolleyes1

Just so you know...World Showcase is coming up probably this weekend or early next week........

Hey, Jordan!!

We completely skipped Camp Minnie Mickey this time-and the kids were fine with it! We enjoy the Lion King show, but have seen it so many times, ao we skipped the whole area!!

I almost cried at Erin with her Mickey ice cream. The EPITOME of being in Disney for us is at the end of the day, having a Mickey ice cream bar/or sandwich, and sitting in front of the castle, or EPCOT ball, or RrC (b/c that is the last ride for DH always!!)-waiting for the crowds to get out, so i can have my peace time!!

It reminded me of that. Chillin' out with Mickey ice cream!!

Lori

Nice update.

I am glad you all were outside with all the pulling of the fingers going on. That could have been a very bad scene had you been inside.

Glad to hear the restroom is a 1 flush. I have been to it before and always thought is was one of the better ones.

I do not know If I have ever paid any attention to see if anyone is sleeping. I guess that goes on the list for next time.

I have not seen those cut out before. Where are they??

I think people just don't know that restroom is there. I think the only time it gets busy is after a Lion King show gets out and even then it's in the opposite direction of the flow of traffic....I don't think I'd make a special trip out there just to use it, but it's nice to know it's there....

It's funny. The whole sleeping picture thing started at WDW years ago when I took a picture next to a lady sleeping on a bench.....

These pics and comments made me laugh out loud. That first one could be title: When narcolepsy strikes!

The newest dancers for the newest revival of The King and I! Yul Brenner watch out!

I see your wittiness has returned this morning...How are the puffy eyes today?

I love this pic! :rotfl2:

Laughs at our expense. I'm cool with that.

Great report! I love the restroom ratings, it's always good to know where the "good" bathrooms are located.:rotfl:

Probably the best at AK.

It is a great picture of ERin

and of course, we do these pix to make ourselves laugh too.

Hi there, I am new to the boards, but have been lurking. I figured I'd finally say hi! :wave2:

I'm completely up-to-date on your post-trip and on page 50 of your pre-trip. I am addicted!

You remind me so much of an old friend of my sister's. I feel like I already know you! Plus, your relationship with your cousin reminds me so much of my relationship with my sister. She and I are buds! :thumbsup2

I have a business trip to Orlando in June and am taking my DW and DD2. We leave 5 weeks from tomorrow!!!! :woohoo:

I have gotten such great info on the DIS and will actually be starting my binder this weekend! Thank you to all of you who post the great info and pics!

Out of curiosity, is RoBoJo Filipina?

John

The pic with Goofy was the funniest!! You go, Erin, that's my kind of Mickey bar! NOT the one on a stick.

I do like my ice cream sandwich too. It reminds me of growin up....

That's the kind of picture you frame and put up in your Disney theme room at home! (hope I'm not the only one planning a Disney themed play room)

You are definitely not the only one. Although at Wendy's home, the Disney stuff is everywhere.

Oh My! Those sleeping pics had me laughing out loud! Thanks for bringing the funny to my morning :goodvibes .

Unfortunately, I think that's the last of the sleeping pix...I think.

:rotfl:

I love all the little thought bubbles!

Thanks..trying not to overuse them. I'll try 1 or 2 each update....

SOrry for the lack of quotes, but I would've just clogged up everyone's connection by re-posting pics.... becuase they've been AWESOME the psat two insallments! Love the sleeping people and the "goodbye" from Asia :rotfl:

Just wondering... will we be at AK much longer? My allergies are acting up and I'm gonna need some AC soon. ;)

BTW, I never found the ideal bathroom you ID'd - we weren't even in the park long enough! :headache:

I think I have one more AK installment.....

I would've never experienced this restroom had I not done the Character pix....

:guilty: That's me sulking because there wasn't really any camping going on in that entry!

;)

Erin is eating my favorite Disney snack

Those last two pictures were hillarious!! :rotfl:

Sorry, I knew that would upset you....

I wish I could eat ice cream worry free....

Well, let's just say I was half-asleep and grabbed a tube I thought was a prescribed skin-care cream, squeezed it onto my finger and got a whiff of it as it went by my nose towards my cheek. :scared1: Boy, this doesn't smell like Retin-A. I quickly washed my hands, looked at the tube and realized what it was. Nasty!!

:scared: :rotfl2:

great update and pics Jordan, as usual. Loved the look on Erins face. She's really gonna enjoy that ice cream. You and your sleeping people pictures just crack me up.:rotfl2:

She did enjoy it......she always enjoys it. She got alot of ice cream/gelato on this trip.

Sleepers beware.

great update and pics.

I want one of those Mickey ice cream sandwiches

Another great up-date Jordan
That Goofy is one smart cookie

He is a smart one....he squeezed tight too....

My DH thanks you for the report on the 1-Flusher. ;)

Love the pics!

Every man loves his privacy....we just need newspapers or Sports Illustrateds in every stall.....:rolleyes1

Well, the pace was definitely slower today. .. only 3.5 pages. .. I could actually keep up. . .thanks for the update. .. It helped to entertain me this morning. . .

welcome back.

It's been a crazy re-boot.

How was your trip? TR?

Brother-sister makes that Commando comment even more weird. Ha ha ha ha. :scared1:

Yeah, I guess it is.

I was once a child myself. I often can see what's going on in their heads....

When you enter Camp Minnie Mickey they are on the left hand side. Close to where Lilo and Stitch have their Meet n Greet.

Sorry, I knew that would upset you....

A-ha! So you admit you did it to get my goat (where does that saying come from anyway? :confused3 )!

Great update Jordan. When we're at Disney this month I'm on the lookout for several things, thanks to you.

1. Flat Jordans
2. Anyone Asian (with camera)
3. A clean restroom (which I always look for anywhoo)
4. Ah, yes, my favorite. Sleeping people.

Of course this means all of my family members will think I'm completely bonkers. :lmao:
