Okay on to real trip-related stuff.

Budget analysis. After my laptop purchase, I had to go back and look at my budget. I had not added the regular Dining Plan yet to the Pop portion of the trip yet. So I went back and figured out how much it would cost to pay OOP for the TS and keep the QSDP and it was basically a wash. I wouldn't save any money by staying with the QSDP and paying OOP for the TS meals. So 2 days ago, I upgraded from the QSDP to the DDP. It was 90 dollars to upgrade--not bad.

I also looked at the solo portion of my trip. I have 5 TS meals planned. Boma, Jiko, Brown Derby, Flying Fish and Sanaa. I was able to include Boma in the DDP as it falls on the last day of the Pop portion of my trip. However, since I'm paying OOP for these, Jiko and Flying Fish become very expensive meals at 85-105 for each meal. I don't want to give up my Jiko meal. So Flying Fish may drop off. However, I won't cancel until sometime during the trip. I may be able swing it still depending how I manage my money the Pop portion of the trip.

Right now I have 1600 dollars budgeted for spending money. I think that's enough. I budget each day as follows:

Snacks
Lunch
Dinner
Drinks

I also add in a category for cab or tips on arrival/departure day for the ME driver. I forgot to add in daily mousekeeping. I'm going to have to add that in. The mousekeepers never have much to do in my room as I usually clean my room before I head out in the morning. I make my bed and try to make it look like I was just arriving. I guess I could leave that for the mousekeepers to do.....never really thought of that until just now.

I highlighted drinks because this is category will probably fluctuate the most. Since the Arizona Drunk Fest 2009, I have had maybe 3-4 beers total in 4 1/2 months. I don't know really what's going to happen once I'm on vacation. I could drink alot or I could drink very little. I've planned for a few nights at ESPN...We're just going to have to see how this one pans out...I've got enough money set aside in case I need to let loose, but I don't see a repeat of Arizona. At least my uncle and aunt won't be there...:rolleyes1

I need your help guys. I have not been on a Disney trip with the dining plan without my picky boys. I am taking my dad in 3 weeks :woohoo: and it just dawned on me that I can go to a "grown up" restaurant. I was able to snag a reservation at Narcoossee's for 7:45pm (wishes is at 8pm that night) which means I would pay oop for 2 breakfasts (dad is a breakfast kind of guy) as that would be the cheapest. So what do you think? Is Narcoossee's worth it? I've heard people say it is more the romantic atmosphere than the food, but I'm not really looking for romance with my dad!:scared1::eek:

Give me your honest opinions people. Thanks!

I haven't been Punkin has been. she loves it. Wendy has been and enjoyed it.

my pick for a signature is always CA Grill, Jiko or Flying Fish.

I always make my bed in my room too ;) With DVC I usually only get mousekeeping once depending on the length of stay...I really can't deal with a messy room when I come back after a long day....touch of OCD. :cool1:

Definitely keep the Jiko reservation but I don't think I have to tell you that;)

Love the "red light"/"green light" pictures. The sizing works out that if I page up and page down the pictures are in the same spot on the screen so it looks like a movie -- a very disturbing movie.

I was looking for a new dishwasher at home depot yesterday when I spied the paint counter. After a quick security check, I mosied on over to grab a few mickey heads.....but there weren't any!!!!

Not even a display of disney paint! My first thought was Jordan was right! They are getting rid of them.

Just as I was about to go beserk and demand an explanation from the clueless paint lady, D.Jay told me to calm down because we were at Lowe's not Home Depot.

whew!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Maybe it's because I only got 2 hours of sleep last night, but I'm beginning to get nervous about visiting the powder room durring one of our dis meets.

Everyone here knows way too much about my potty preferences....I keep imagining Jordy, Rosie and Cherie doing a play by play like sportscasters from monday night football.

Cherie- looks like winkers is headed for the ladies room. Will it be a long or short pit stop?

Rosie- She's walking into the first stall....oh, wait. She made a last second move when she found a wet toilet seat....she's making her way to another stall now.

Jordan- wow! I didn't know the ladies rooms were so clean and fresh smelling!

cherie- there she goes, she's made the selection, third stall from the door. She's walking in, the door is closing...

Rosie- will she use the paper seat covers that never stay in place or will she line the seat with t.p.? She's using the t.p. method

Jordan- it's time for the courtesy flush.....

Rosie-sounds like she got an over active toilet that flushes repeatedly giving more of a bidet effect.

Cherie- I'm on pins and needles waiting to see what method of t.p. use she will use.....ohhhh..she's folding, no wait! I see some scrunching going on!

Jordan-with that technique I see toilet paper animals in her future!

cherie-now the big question....will she use adult wipes? I'm betting 10 to 1 that she does.

Rosie- she's standing, adjusting the clothes, now it's time for the flush. This is the dangerous part folks.

Jordan- dangerous is putting it mildly! Winkers isn't known for her agility or balance. The foot flusher can be a tricky play .

Cherie- there she goes....it looks like a scene from the Karate kid, one foot on the ground the other raised in the air in the crane position........

Rosie-success! We have a succesful crane flush! she's leaving the stall

Jordan-now, how will she wash her hands? Will she use a paper towel to turn the water on?

You are so right on how the conversation will go!!:lmao:

I'll be your Dook!;) Did I just call myself Dook?

I

Congrats to Kyle[/QUOT

I guess I am the Dookess !!:rotfl2:

Thanks for the Kyle Kongrats !!!

When I had a 2br in Jambo I had two of my nephews with me and one niece...the boys (teens) were in 1 br and my niece and I were in the other....I even made my nephews close the pull out couch and make their beds in the am even though I rarely went in there! :rotfl2: I don't think they even make their beds at home ;) I suppose I taught them some very important life skills

Tracy

p.s. I ended up getting a macbook and really love it...my first mac :thumbsup2 now I am all appled out with my iPhone and mac :)

Is the 1600 including what you'll pay for the dining plan? Or is this just for your solo portion of your stay? Do you figure the amount by day, or by category?

Ooh, I like that. I'll have to try that on my dad and all his printing trade buddies -total isheep!

Gracias!

I do a daily budget.

The 1600 is a total for both portions of the trip. Even though I'm on the DDP, for TS restaurants, I have to figure in for tip and if I get a glass of wine or a bowl of soup.

I plan on getting a Disney Gift Card for the solo portion of my trip so it's like pre-paying for that portion of the trip.....

Yeah they don't like it much. I may fold and get an iPhone.

I think Peter may be having a dookie moment of his own.

OMG that almost caused wine spewing!

I really should know better than to sip and scroll....

That seems like a pretty hefty budget if you've prepaid for the DDP for both parts but some of your TS is OOP, right?

We spent 1000 OOP on top of the DDP last year but that included an awful lot of extra's like MSB, Spa and SeaRaycers plus tips and drinks. We had one meal OOP but that was it. I don't include my garden grocer order in my budget as it was about my weekly grocery budget if we'd been at home so I figure that just fit in there instead. But that was bascially for 6 nights and 6 days so....I dunno. Given our crap flight times that 7th night doesn't count and we lost 2 full days to travel. It doesn't include souvies though. I'm hoping to keep ours at 1K this trip not including OOP meals, groceries and souvies but I might be smoking crack!

$90 to upgrade from the QSDP isn't bad at all. I think the dining plan is so worth it. I HATE budgeting for food because I can't stick to a budget.

Did you budget for souvenirs?

Thanks for the info on Cali Grill. I'm thinking of adding that to the list for August.

First....love the pics. :lmao:

Next... It looks like you've got it all figured out quite nicely. I agree about not canceling flying fish until you get closer to the day. You never know, you may be able to swing it.
"drunk fest arizona" hee hee :rotfl:

Had to play catch-up! Your budget looks good to me, but being a spendthrift, and not having been to WDW for 20 yrs..take that as you will.. Woohoo for upgrading to DDP!

Love the before and after pics..and thankful there's no way to put sound in a message. Poor Piper finds it impossible to do her thing without sound effects which has resulted in some very funny facial expressions in public restrooms! I've tried coaching her not to make noise, but, doesn't work. I guess I should just be glad she doesn't have a thing about going in public restrooms since it seems a lot of people do. We'd be hauling butt *literally* home way tooooooo often if she did. (CF thing there with malabsorption..she scores at least 3-4 times daily.)

I'm with the other question askers..no souvenirs?
