Chapter 77. Another big update.

I had a crazy weekend. On Saturday, I cleaned the church, prepared for a meeting, had 2 meetings, had youth group and worked on our year end reports. 14 hour day. Sundays are always nuts. I'm there to worship and yet I end up working the whole day.

Changes, more changes: The first change comes from a desire to change who I am--transform myself from the person I was to the person I was intended to be. The biggest change I made....I'm only going to ESPN one night out of 12.....I mean I'm leaving it open...who am I kidding right? But I'm only scheduling one night at ESPN.
wdwfeb2008427.jpg

Wish me luck with this one.......It'll be easier since I'm not staying at an Epcot resort. Last year 7 visits to ESPN.

The hours changes/updates were great on one hand. However, it does mean it's gonna be busy. Anytime MK stays open til 1am means major crowds. Anytime MK's evening EMH is until 3am...it's gonna be busy. I didn't really end up changing the schedule too much because of the hours changes. I DID change a ton of stuff because I only scheduled Wendy to be at MK for an evening EMH and on their departure day....OOPS!

gotta go do something :rolleyes1 I'll be back to finish in a second....okay back.....

Okay here you go AGAIN--The newest itinerary.

Friday, Feb 5th: Depart OC Airport 2:30pm. Arrive MCO 11:20pm. Arrive @ POP.NO CHANGE.

Sat, Feb 6th: Sleep in. MK.CS Lunch: Everything Pop. ADR Dinner: The Wave.*
Sat, Feb 6th: Epcot/MK. ADRS: Breakfast: Kona Cafe. Dinner: The Wave
I am now having breakfast at Kona on my first day. Since you guys rave about it. I thought what better way to start the vacation than with a round of Tonga Toast. I am also going to Epcot because I'd rather start there than MK.

Sun, Feb 7th: Epcot-FW. MK for Evening EMH. Babysit. CS Meals: Sunshine Seasons and Contempo Cafe.
NO CHANGE.

Mon, Feb 8th: Sleep in. Epcot-WS. ADR Lunch: Tutto Italia. ADR Dinner: Kouzzina*
NO CHANGE

Tues, Feb 9th: AK. DTD evening. CS Meals: Flame Tree and Wolfgang Puck Express
Tues, Feb 9th: TL/DTD EMH. ADRS: Lunch: Typhoon Tilly's. Dinner: Wolfgang Puck Express.
Wendy and gang are going to MK this day instead of going to AK. I am using this day to go to TL instead of Thursday. I hope the weather is warm enough. What's my mojo gonna be on this trip?

Wed, Feb 10th: DHS. AK Evening EMH. ADR Lunch: Prime Time. ADR Dinner: Tusker House.
NO CHANGE.

Thurs, Feb 11th: TL day. DTD evening. CS Lunch: Leaning Palms. ADR Dinner: Raglan Road.
Thurs, Feb 11th: AK/DTD. ADRS: Lunch: Flame Tree BBQ. Dinner: Earl of Sandwich.
Now were are all going to AK on Thursday. However since I am picking up both the Kona ADR and ESPN on Saturday, I had to drop Raglan from my DDP plan. It was the one I was least looking forward to. Don't hate.

Friday, Feb 12th: Free day.
NO CHANGE.

Sat, Feb 13th: Free day. Epcot-WS evening. ADR Dinner: Teppan Edo.
WS/DTD/ESPN. ADRS: Lunch: Teppan Edo. Dinner: ESPN.
We switched Teppan Edo to lunch giving us all the opportunity to have the rest of the day free, especially since it's Wendy and gang's last day. I am meeting up with my friend Tom who lives in Orlando. We're hanging out then heading to ESPN for dinner. It's my one night at ESPN--gimme that okay!

Sun, Feb 14th: Resort change. Resort Hop. ADR Breakfast: Kona Cafe. ADR Dinner: Boma.
Resort Change. Resort Hop. MK EMH. ADRS: Lunch: Wolfgang Puck Express. Dinner: Boma.
I THINK and I'm not sure that I may try and go to MK for the EMH....I just wanna say I was there at 2am in the morning. That means Monday the 15th needs to be a non-park day. We'll see...

Mon, Feb 15th: TL day. Free evening. CS Lunch: Typhoon Tillys. ADR Dinner: Jiko.
NO CHANGE.

Tues, Feb 16th: DHS. Free afternoon/evening. ADR Lunch: Brown Derby.
Wed, Feb 17th: Free day. ADR Lunch: Sanaa.
Thurs, Feb 18th: Depart.
NO CHANGE.
*DIS Meals

The first photo theme of the trip has been selected. Winkers and I have already been discussing it....Rosie and Blue hope you're up for a little fun. I'm gonna give you a hint. It will still be very family friendly. I promise. Here's the hint:

Packing has begun. This might not be the final configuration of the suitcase, but I'm a roller. Rolling gets me more space. I am still trying to decide whether I'm gonna take a big suitcase and a smaller one or just the big one. We'll see.

I hate to talk about it....I need to shop still. I still need new sneakers, but don't know if I can break them in by the time we leave. I'd also like another pair of jeans and 2 shirts. We'll see. I also need another SD card. Finally, I need to do Travel Aisle shopping.....

I can check in online on Wednesday. As Punkin and Blue mentioned, since I booked through a TA, she needs to do it. I talked with her today. We're doing it over the phone sometime on Wednesday.

Oh...and I'M LEAVING NEXT WEEK.

We were posting at the same time. :goodvibes

yes we were.

I remembered the guy I was thinking of was named Ted. Definitely not Derek. I just saw the pics of you and your dormmates. I went to Uni and thought it was comical how UCI was like our math and science dept., since so many of the kids went there for AP courses. I hung out there a bit in 88-89 because my best friend went there. I went there for a summer term in 92 and worked at the Marketplace around then as well. You were probably long gone. Weird, thinking of OC as a small world!

I was gone for sure. I worked on campus through 85-86.

Hang in there Wendy, you're going to Disney in 11 days!

I'm so glad to here your Dad is doing better. Prayers coming your way that he continues to improve and that Dylan gets better.

Think happy thoughts! Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust!pixiedust:

Wendy,

Thanks for taking the time to give us a life update. I'm glad your dad is home and doing reasonably well with the chemo... hope that continues!

Sending prayers  and pixiedust! pixiedust: Kathy

Thanks so much for all your warm wishes and prayers! We'll just take things day by day but thankfully today he's doing good!

Wendy~ thanks for the state of the union address.....that line was too funny!

I'm so glad to hear that your dad is doing better.
Are your parents going to stay with someone else while you're gone?

At least Dylan is sick now and not while on vacation, and I'd enjoy laying around and watching tv too.;)

Thought I'd throw in some political humor given the state of the government these days... hee hee. I think my folks will either stay at our house or their place, depending on if my dad can do stairs yet (their condo has stairs to get into it). He's got chemo that week though so it works out well that we're gone so child care is not an issue. Yeah, Dylan enjoyed just laying around watching TV. He could do that all day if I let him.

Glad your dad is doing better but it figures that now that he is getting well, Dylan is sick! Hopefully he can kick that fever before you leave! Lotsa prayers your way for Dylan and your dad!

So glad your dad is doing better. Somehow you will get all the crazy stuff you have to do, done before you go. I hope everone stays healthy and you don't go insane from all the pretrip "to do " list.

So glad that your dad is a little better and out of the hospital. It is good that the chemo isn't having any bad effects on him. :goodvibes

Sorry Dylan is sick!! My DS has developed a nasty cough too. He was on meds all last week but started getting better. Then....WHAM, he woke up with it again this morning. :sad2: Luckily we still are without fever so that is good. Hope yours gets better and FAST!!

I know what you mean about the "busy's" right before a trip. I've been running, running, running! But I'm HOPING that I'm on the downhill side of that now. Hopefully I can start packing by this weekend. ......hopefully!!

Dylan is doing better tonight (no fever and he's not acting sick at all) so hopefully he's kicked it... hopefully no sickness on vacation! Yup, those "busy's" really keep you running... but I just take things one moment at a time and eventually I'll get it all done. I think for me the key is not to just "relax" too much, and then have to run around like crazy later, but to just keep going ("just keep swimming, just keep swimming...") and then I can go at a manageable pace. Think marathon vs. sprint... I'm going the marathon route.

Oh...and I'M LEAVING NEXT WEEK.

YOWZA!!!! Next week!!!! I can't believe it's already here!!

I got my haircut, need to schedule a brow wax, need to order my park tickets, figure out the cost breakdowns for everyone, follow up on Kim's ME tickets, PACK, sigh... too much to do.

p.s. follow up note on dylan - he woke up a little right now (12:43am) and is a little warm again. sigh... hopefully not coming back AGAIN. he's got this on/off fever thing going. sigh.

I can't believe you're leaving next week :yay:

And I can't wait to read about your experience with online check-in. I hope it makes your process at the resort really fast.

i did not know a TA had to check us in...i'll have to check with her about it! THanks!

Nice looking boxers, dude. :thumbsup2 Much better than the ones we saw on your trip to Japan. :rotfl:

Only one scheduled visit to ESPN? I am all for people setting goals and making changes within themselves. :thumbsup2 I've pretty much stopped drinking alcohol these days - even my beloved Guinness. Too expensive and too many calories. Good luck to you! But, I will miss the stories of the drunken people you encounter. :rolleyes1

Have you ever eaten at Maya Grill?

The hours changes/updates were great on one hand. However, it does mean it's gonna be busy. Anytime MK stays open til 1am means major crowds. Anytime MK's evening EMH is until 3am...it's gonna be busy.

yep, it is. i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but just get ready! i had another client call me about the week of 2/13 and i called disney again just to see if anything had opened up. this lady has 4 kids so they would need either 2 rooms or a villa. the only thing that was available was 2 rooms at the yacht club and the quote was for $9,900 FOR 6 NIGHTS!!!!! :scared1: so she's having to stay off site. but the good news is that the first half of your trip won't be bad as far as crowds go, i don't think. and hopefully it will die down a couple days before you leave. but president's day weekend is gonna be insane.

I am now having breakfast at Kona on my first day. Since you guys rave about it. I thought what better way to start the vacation than with a round of Tonga Toast. I am also going to Epcot because I'd rather start there than MK.

yum.....think of me when you are savoring that sweet banana, cinnamon, syrupy goodness!

I THINK and I'm not sure that I may try and go to MK for the EMH....I just wanna say I was there at 2am in the morning. That means Monday the 15th needs to be a non-park day. We'll see...

i would do it, too, just for the experience.

my guess is strangers' underwear. am i right?

Oh...and I'M LEAVING NEXT WEEK.

:dance3:

Yay!! You are leaving NEXT WEEK!!:banana::banana:

I bought my sneakers about a week before my trip and they were the best ever. I had been worried about breaking them in too. I would just bring two pairs if you do get a new pair.

I'm a roller too....I find it leaves fewer wrinkles in my shirts.

I say bring 2 suitcases...it's still free on SW...might as well take advantage of it while you can!

A friend of mine from church is going to be there around the same time as you (I think around the 14th - 20th) and he's heard it's going to be busy too. He's a DVC member and was trying to get a reservation in BLT (wanted MK view) at the 7-month mark and couldn't get one (home resort priority begins at 11 months out, all others can book at 7 months). Instead he'll be at SSR.

Okay the Pix theme needs some more explaining:confused3 I am game for anything .. well almost:lmao: Do fill me in and Hey there Miss Winkers you are in the know and haven't squealed !!!!:rotfl2:

I have to say, I admire you. I think it takes someone with a good sense of self to be comfortable traveling alone. I love going out for a drive or hike alone but not sure I'd be okay with WDW. You're awesome!:thumbsup2

I'd LOVE to go to Disney by myself...no husband, no kiddo. Just time to myself to really explore, relax, and enjoy WDW! :D

Jordan...the pic theme (as many others have said) needs some explaining. It's not a good idea to keep people whose minds tend to wander in the dark about pictures of boxers. ;)

And whoo-hoo for leving next week! Time just FLEW!

WOOT! Great update! Love the changes!!!

Only 1 ESPN night...LOL! I have never been to ESPN maybe I need to try it out sometime LOL!!!!!

YAY for next week!!

YOWZA!!!! Next week!!!! I can't believe it's already here!!

When I first read this I thought Jordan was writing about needing his brows waxed! :rotfl2: Not that there's anything wrong with that. :rolleyes1 I know plenty of guys who could benefit from a good waxing!

I hope Dylan feels better!

I don't think the secret should be revealed....I want to see what all of your little minds come up with.:thumbsup2

glad to see you are changing a few lifestyle things jordo...

new plans look good.

and i have never been a roll fan, think you can fit more than the stack method.

ha ha ha ha ha... so funny. i remember DH and i used to (pre kids) go for spa days together and he was totally into the facials and even got a mani-pedi once. Hee hee hee.

Dylan's still coughing BAD (not a lot, but it sounds HORRIBLE) :sad1: Erin's sounding like she's getting a cough too but not as bad. I myself still have a lingering congestion cough too... My hairdresser raved about using oil of oregano to clear up congestion like crazy - have any of you used it? I was reading up on it and it sounds interesting... I'm getting desperate in kicking this before WDW!!!!

Hey Jordy - I can't believe you're leaving in a week! I'm a bit behind due to my virus issues.

So, you're a roller, eh? Now does that mean you're going to need to iron whilst vacationing? I imagine the rolling creates a few wrinkles. I'm guessing you enjoy ironing - you like laundry, right? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I think two weeks is probably not enough time to break in new tennis shoes. Well, unless you wear them everyday, that would probably do it. At least you've had enough time to break in all the new chonies - apparently they figure prominently in your theme? Hmmm, what could it be - I'm intrigued. Pantylines?
