Peeling sunburn...in scalp!!

I imagine you can picture how nasty this is...now imagine it against dark hair!! Any suggestions? (Other than to apply sunblock all over the scalp, next time, not just on my natural part--once it got wet it parted all over!!)

To make matters worse, it ITCHES. So I scratch and that makes it worse.

They do make an after sun spray lotion I think. That would make it easier to apply to your scalp. Or you can just apply aloe vera gel and deal with the fact that your hair will probably feel/look a little nasty for a few days.

I get that a lot, and I have dark hair.
When it happens, I keep my hair in a ponytail so I don't have to part it and show the world my flaky head.

OUCH! Try tea tree shampoo. It helps me when my scalp gets burned.

No doubt, LOL, but that is like locking the barn door after the horse has been stolen at this point. We were at the beach in a yellow-flag surf--the hat got knocked off and knocked off and almost swept away at one point. And I had applied sunblock on my head, and never burned it before. And the kicker is, I was only slightly pink and only in a small area. Did not expect such flaky goodness (not!).

Eew. I hate when this happens. And it happens to me at least once a summer. Because I forget the sunblock at least once a summer. I agree with the pony tail idea. You're gonna be stuck with the gross for a few days, and that is the best way to hide it.

This is why I always pull my hair into a tight ponytail in the sun.

Man I don't know what to tell you. I've only been burned on my part. I always just pulled it into a ponytail to hide it. Washing it with cooler than normal water might sooth it, also stay far away from clarifying shampoos, maybe you should use a moisturizing one.
