Wow, how could this happen? My kids have never been alone with a physician.

ANNAPOLIS, Maryland - A Delaware pediatrician is accused of molesting at least 16 patients, including some who appear to be no more than 6 months old, and police said the doctor used video cameras to record some of the brutal attacks in exam rooms.

Dr. Earl B. Bradley, 56, was being held on $2.9 million bond Tuesday, said Sgt. Walter Newton, a Delaware State Police spokesman. Police believe there could be more victims.

Bradley, of Lewes, faces 29 charges, including rape. He was charged last week with sexually abusing nine girls.

THAT guy is a doctor??? Who in their right man goes to Dr. Grizzly Adams and leave their kids alone with it??

He has an office at the beach....unusually decorated for children, has rides, a "toy" room, etc. Apparently, after the exam he was taking the children to the basement toy room to pick out candy or toys. I know people around here are jumping all over the parents, asking why they left their children alone with him. But really, if you got no "bad vibes" from him, and the kids were excited about riding on the toys, playing the games and getting candy, a Dr. is the last person you would think would do something like this. I know my dentist doesn't allow parents back with their children, and while it's a different set-up, ( all the rooms are open ) I've worried about it, but they are strict with their policy.

In NO way I am defending this scum, I think they should put him in general population and announce what he did on his first day of prison, and if my child was harmed by him, it would be a moot point because they'd never find him, but I think more people are jumping on the parents then need be.

dear Lord...there's a special place in you-know-where for people like that. what a low-life, scum-sucking piece of filth.

I don't trust anyone---- rot in h-e- double hockey sticks, you deplorable excuse for a human being....

Parents should never blindly trust someone solely because of their college degree. I've heard of doctor's, dentists, child care centers; etc that have the "no parents allowed back with their children" policy. I think it's a creepy policy and would never take my child to a place where I am not welcome. I always go back with my child at doctors or dentists. I know for me personally, I always have questions and my son is a complete chicken and likes me to be there. I wouldn't even consider a place that makes the parents feel unwelcome.

There are dentists in our area like that too. I called around and found a dentist that would allow me to be present. I like him and his staff. My kids are young. They have a chair off to the side in all of the rooms, and the dentist talks to me and the kids. I like this set up.

I'd be curious if a doctor had rides and a toy room. I'd go with my kids for that. That's just me. I wouldn't expect a doctor to supervise my kids in a ride room while there are other patients to be seen. It would be odd. And besides, that's my job.

Really, the whole story is odd. He molested kids as young as six months old. What kind of a parent sends a six month old into a room alone with a middle aged man? First of all, at six months old, the child is probably crying for their parent. Second, don't these parents want to talk to the doctor? I usually have a list of questions that I ask, and I've been a parent for years. I just can't imagine handing a baby over to a man I barely know, and then sitting back and watching t.v. in the waiting room.

My kids go to a dentist where they discourage parents from going with the kids. However, if a parent wants to go they don't stop you from going. They have one big room with all the chairs facing TVs and there are at least 3 techs in the treatment area with the one doctor.

I was concerned about this before I took my kids the first time but they showed me around, showed me how no one was alone with the kids, and that I could if I wanted to go back and sit with my kids. So I let my kids go by themselves.

I told myself before we went that if I didn't feel comfortable then i wouldn't leave them alone.

They are reporting today that his arraingment ( I think that's what they called it ) would likely be postponed because he doesn't have a lawyer. There's a shocker, I can't imagine anyone could defend him and then sleep at night. Ever.

ITA. :thumbsup2 He would, undoubtedly, be well taken care of by his fellow inmates. :rolleyes1 And, bonus, there would be no tax dollars wasted on this scum!

What a sick, twisted, deplorable piece of &$(#.

I can see how some parents might leave their kids alone. If he told them it was necessary, so many people blindly trust doctors. I know when I was older but still seeing the ped, she would sometimes ask me if I wanted my mom to leave so we could talk about more grown up stuff. In fact, I think one or two times my mom just left on her own. But those kids are nowhere near that age.

I can understand if your child is a teen or beginning to go through puberty, and they want you to leave. Maybe your child wants to ask something to the doctor in private. But babies? That, I don't get. Even when I go to my son's dentist, I see parents who just drop their children off and drive away to do errands. I just think that is poor parenting and shows a lack of interest in your child's health.

On the flip side, I don't want to continue coming down on the parent's without addressing the incredible piece of scum that is the doctor. Hopefully, the prison guards will be looking the other way when he gets his. Even in prison among criminals, this type of crime is frowned upon. They will dispense justice on him in a way that our courts cannot, and that is a good thing.

I think MAYBE his guilt and sentence should be determined legally??

I don't see any of the recommendations in this thread being used with a qualifying phrase like, "proven guilty"?

He video taped his crimes.

Wouldn't some of these children have bruises or marks on them? Wouldn't the parents have seen that? How long was this going on?? OMG!!! This scum should be turned over to the families of the children.

They have videotapes of him engaging in the crimes. They also removed computers, video tapes and the like from his home. They have been investigating him for a year.

He's been proven guilty.

I would never go to any medical practice that did not allow a parent back. That is just wrong and would not make me feel good about anything there.

agree totally

maybe a teen, but never a 6 month old, never a small child, and I would venture to say not any age until the teen years.

we aren't lawyer and dont' have to speak in legal jargon, he is guilty the tapes prove it and a court will find him guilty.
