I'm so excited ºoº 9 days 'til wdw! My travel agent and Air Transat are telling me to get to Pearson AT LEAST 2 hours before our flight. We pre-booked our seats. I don't want to get there that early but our seats are only held until one hour prior to the flight (even thou is cost $$$$$ to pre-book). What do you all think? Should I aim for 2 hours before the flight, 1 hour or even closer to 3 hours? We are travelling with 7yo and 1yo.

You have paid for pre-assigned seats, so your guaranteed these seats? This doesn't make sense to me. We flew with air transat to Vegas, and we had pre-assigned seats and we were late getting to the airport and we still got in. The flight left in 1/2 hr!! The question is... Does the airline have the right to give your seat away to someone else if you don't show up within that hour? That is one question I would find out from the air company.

With Air Transat I wouldn't take a chance and would get there at the 2 hour time limit. Especially at Pearson. They bumped us off our flight from Vegas to Montreal via Toronto. They lied to us and told us there was a problem with our plane and we would have to get off in Toronto, and clear customs there, and get a flight later that night. Due to the fact that my dh lost his sunglasses in the plane with the sudden rush to get our things, we had to go to the Air Transat check in that is where we found out that they had gone through the plane while they were cleaning it to get it ready to go to Cuba. Apparently, the Cuba flight had been delayed from the morning so they decided to use our plane for them. So I don't have much trust in Air Transat.

When we flew out in December with Air Transat we were there about 2 hours before the flight(6:30am takeoff)I am glad we did.Although the line up wasnt bad(we were 3 in line)it took them almost 30 minutes to check seven of us in(a new person)We then had to wait another 20 minutes in line just to get to customs, then another 20 minutes for customs to open.Took another 10 minutes to get through the customs line, another 5 minutes to get to the gate.We got to the gate with about 45 minutes to takeoff. They started boarding the plane at 6:00am.Surprisingly, we took off right on time.I do recommend getting there at least 2 hours ahead even if you already have your seats booked. The line up behind us to check our luggage was extremely long and you cant have just one person stand in line, because they have to see everyone.Just bring the kids something to do and something to nibble on and things will go great.I have no complaints about Air Transat

Hi SandraC: Yes, I would get to the airport at least 2 hours ahead because chances are that you will be one of the first to get through check-in and not have to stand in a line-up. After check-in you can wander around the airport, get something to eat/drink, keeping in mind that they start boarding about 1/2 before the flight. The time will go quickly. :)

Depending on where you are coming from - recommend giving yourself the extra time - because of traffic. The 401/403 is the worst spot near the airport and having a little extra time might be helpful here. Also our experience with Air Transat is that they don't let you on the plane until the last possible moment. As well the planes are very, very crammed (no leg room) so ensuring you get a good seat should be important (wished we did this as we arrived in plenty of time and our family of 5 ended up sitting in 3 separate spots (husband stuck in the last seat in the corner, 2 kids (aged 9&6) up two rows and me with our 4 year old up another couple rows). I was not impressed with Air Transat plus they changed our flights 2 days before leaving (we left a day later and and left Orlando almost a full day earlier). Sorry I just had to vent! Good luck - and why take a chance - get there early and walk around and watch the planes!
