The Oakland, CA Tribune syndicate papers carried the review for Pearl Harbor, saying the love story part of it should be bombed, though it is still a movie worth seeing.

Bottom line was 2.5 stars out of 4.

You're always going to get those who know the period who notice all the inconsistencies, and then there's the rest of the public. Opening weekend netted Pearl Harbor $76.1 Million, lets see what kind of staying power it has.
