I'm making a cheesecake tonight to bring my sister's house. Should I attempt to make a peanut butter cup cheesecake or stick with the easier plain? I don't want a flop! :rotfl:

And anyone know a good site for cheesecake recipes?

I'd go with the plain...not just cuz its easier, but because I'm not a fan of peanut butter cheesecake.

Can you bring one to my house too? :)

Sure thing...but I think you should wait until I finish making one to see if it's edible. :rotfl:

Well if you get lazy (or scared), you could always run by the Cheesecake Factory. Their White Chocolate Rasberry Truffle cheesecake is to DIE for. :goodvibes

I have them on speed dial already! :teeth:

I'm not a fan of cheesecake but I'd probably go with plain just because it would appeal to just about anyone but me :rotfl: . Maybe you could bring a topping along side it. As far as recipes check out www.foodtv.com they'll definitely have a bunch.

Don't eat any though until you find out what's wrong.

oooh I'll have to check out the site. I'm going to run to Delicious orchards (well we''ll see after going to the doctor) to pick up another pie...talk about mayhem at that place today.

Have you ever been? It's in colts neck!

I'll let you know what the doctor says..and thanks! :)

the plain cheessecake recipe is a old family tradition. my mother would be after you if she got wind of me giving it out! :rotfl:

Plain...

with sour cream topping baked on...

and cherries on the side for those who insist on tinkering with perfection:thumbsup2

DHs family doesn't like cheesecake (where these people raised by wolves:lmao: ), so I'm just making pumpkin pie(s); strawberry pie & lo-cal jello magic dessert.

Happy thanksgiving to all, off to cook 1st turkey of the 3 I've got to prepare.

I'd go with plain, although I would love the peanut butter cup one! :teeth:

DH made 2 pumpkin cheesecakes last night. Yum!!

I'd make plain (but I'd personally prefer the PBC one). America's Test Kitchen had the BEST recipe, but I don't know if it is still posted on their site. I'd home-make some fruit sauce to put on top, too, as everyone is being served their slices.

This year, I am attempting the Libby's Pumpkin Cake Roll for the first time, so we'll see how that goes.

Oooohh! DH is from Freehold and we used to go there too! Yummy stuff. As I remember, it was a zoo the day before Thanksgiving. Good luck!!!

I am in the same boat. I usually make a chocolate chip cheesecake but DH requested plain. I am putting a bowl of cherries out on the side.

I would love the pB one but like others said it just may be too heavy after a huge meal.

It's a little bit of a drive for me but I was there once last year picking up pies for a school fundraiser. It was crazy. Their stuff is really good though. Definitely let us know what the dr says - good luck.

Here is my family cheesecake recipe...it is a tradition for our holidays and it comes out so creamy mmmmmmmm

Cheescake Recipe

3/4 lbs cream cheese (1 large package & 1 small)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
Graham Cracker pie crust

Blend eggs, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add cream cheese and blend until smooth. Place in pie crust. Bake at 325 for 25 minutes. Chill.

Top of Pie:

3/4 pint of sour cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla

Mix ingredients - put on top of pie and bake for 5 minutes at 325

I usually make the top while the other part is baking and put it in the fridge until it's ready to be poured on top. I also garnish with a few marashino cherries.

It's sooooooooooooooooooooo good!
