Hi I am travelling to the MK in March. Does anyone have the special diets contact info. My son has a severe peanut allergy.
Thank you.:)

We discuss peanut allergies and other allergies on the disAbilities board - there is also info on it there in their FAQ.

Disney has the peanut allergy thing down pretty good. Also be sure to look for Divvies while you are there - jelly beans, caramel corn and choc. chip cookies - Main Street Bakery has them along with some of the resort hotels.

At any of the signature restaurants, or most other table service, just make sure you tell the server when being sat (we've often been asked). Both times that we've been with someone with a nut allergy (at Jiko and AP), the chef came out, talked the diner through the menu, going over what is safe, what are the better options. At the counter service, you will have to be more careful. I'd suggest going to Guest Relations and asking if they can give you list of safe items for each park. FWIW.

Welcome to the Disboards!

I should add that you should note the allergy on your ADR's and you have the option of discussing it with someone before you arrive. They will give you the phone numbers for the restaurants.

Whether or not you need to talk to someone is individual. My younger son is the allergic one and where we often have the most trouble at sit-downs is getting dessert he likes. They usually try to give him ice cream or jello - neither works well. I try to arrange for them to do a brownie or some other item which they can bring over from another restaurant. Or Mickey Bar, etc.

Each CS place has a huge HUGE binder of ingredients. Honestly....the info is all there but unless you have lots of time and no one in line behind you it is a real pain to look at. Ask Brenda for a heads up on the allergic items at CS places. I really hate looking at that binder. It is like you ask about allergies and they hand you "War and Peace" to read....:headache:

1) Any TS eatery can accomodate the peanut allergy.
2) On a small fraction of the CS eateries can accomodate the allergy.

I disagree with that statement. Two of my kids have peanut allergies and we didn't have any problems with CS restaurants. We avoided the asian places (as we do in the real world), but everywhere else was perfectly fine. PB&J is pre-packaged Uncrustables, so there was no concern about cross-contamination. The only kids meal item they couldn't eat were the chocolate chip cookies. We got fruit or jell-o instead.

I agree... a CS isn't that must harder. Go during 'off' times and get the big ole' binder to go through. My pn/tn allergic child could have many things with no issues at all (and he is super sensitive).

Good luck, I feel VERY comfortable at Disney with my food allergic child.

My ds has peanut/tree nut & dairy allergies & we had no problems at any CS places & at TS they made a 'special' meal just for him.

Oh if he wants shots/jimmies/sprinkles on his ice cream they may not give them to you since they said it shares equipment with peanut stuff (you know that wording on packages).
