Someone sent me over to this board for information on dealing with a peanut allergic child at Disney. They said Disney has a way of dealing with allergies, there is a number to call or something to make them aware??? Anyone know what I'm talking about???

Also, we are staying club level and I know that they have PBJs in the lounge every night. I e-mailed them to let them know of my son's peanut allergy and they just said that there will be plenty of other choices available, which is great, but I'm worried that my 2 and a half year old will end up grabbing a PBJ or otherwise come in contact with it sometime when we have out heads turned. I don't really expect them to take the PBJs away, but, it sure would be nice. Anyone have any advice?

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I would suggest you start by clicking on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information.

Post #3 has many different problems listed alphabetically. If you go there and scroll down to dietary restrictions you will find both a lot of advice as well as lnks to reports by people with the same situation. From that post you can add questions to specific threads or continue to ask questions here, but at least you will have an educated start.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Thank you so much!

The pj&j's they serve at Disney are the smuckers uncrustables. They will most likely still be in the wrappers. If not they are a sealed sandwich so it probably wouldn't bother him. If you are really concerned I would avoid the lounge all together or each go seperately. I can feel your pain. I have peanut and tree nut allergies.

To start, make sure you note the allergy on your ADR's when making your didning reservations. Then you should contact Brenda Bennett in special dining.

Also, when we stayed club level, either myself or husband went to the lounge and brought stuff to the room. I also talked to the chef at the hotel and they had a safe treat packaged for us each day and held with the concierge at the lounge.

HI, we stayed CL at the Polynesian last month, and they do have the uncrustables out. They are not in wrappers and they are cut in half, so I can understand your concern. I doubt they'll remove them completely, there are so many kids who eat them. I know at the Polynesian, the area where the food is out is set away from the seating area, so if have someone who can keep him in the seating area, you could still enjoy the lounge. I know that's hard to do with a little one, though, they can be so fast, and they don't know what can hurt them! Good luck!:goodvibes
