Peabody or Ritz Calrton?

Anyone stay at either of these hotels? Will you share your experience with me? I currently have both booked for a weekend stay after our DVC stay. But the price difference is huge. The Peabody is $129.00 and the RC is $379.00. Just looking for a niceplae to wind down. No children will be with us.

We stayed at the Peabody last Christmas. We booked it through Hotwire for $80 a night. If you are looking for real luxury and pampering, I don't think that this is the place. The rooms and pool area were nice, but really nothing out of the ordinary. We went on to stay at the Royal Pacific which was MUCH nicer than the Peabody. If money was no object, I would opt for the Ritz, or how about the new JW Marriott? I would think that it would be a little cheaper and the Ritz is right next door so you could use the restaurants and spa facilities. Just a suggestion. Good luck!

For some reason, I though the Peabody was deluxe? Maybe I'm confused. But the price did seem a little low.

I think that it is a deluxe hotel. It was 41/2 stars according to the hotwire site. I just didn't think that it was that great. I think that it was worth the $80 we paid, but I certainly wouldn't pay much more then that. In fact while we were there, another guest checking in used his key to get into our room! The kids and I were sitting in bed and in he walked! Another reason why you should ALWAYS keep the chain on the door! The hotel was apologetic about it. I'm just glad that the kids weren't in the room alone!

I think you can do better than $379 on the Ritz.

I just received an offer the other week for a credit of xx dollars for each night of stay.

It seems that I have read about several people gettting really good rates there because they are a new property.

Anyway, I would always choose a Ritz over the Peabody. There is just something in the air at Ritz hotels. Everyone makes you feel special.
