inside a man's LUNG! Unbelievable story. My friend told me about this today and I had to look it up.

(NEWSER) – Massachusetts man Ron Sveden had been coughing for months and was braced for bad news when doctors told him they'd discovered a growth sprouting in his lung. Weeks of tests, however, revealed that it wasn't cancer, but a pea plant that had sprouted after apparently being swallowed the wrong way. Sveden is recuperating after having the half-inch plant removed.

"Whether this would have gone full-term and I’d be working for the jolly green giant, I don’t know," Sveden, 75, told WHDH-TV. He says the experience hasn't put him off peas. "One of the first meals I had in the hospital after the surgery had peas for the vegetable. I laughed to myself and ate them," said Sveden, whose friends and neighbors gave him gifts of pea pods and canned peas when he returned home.

Last year, there was a story of someone with a cedar tree sprouting in his lung.

The upshot of it was that he accidently inhaled a sead. It settled in teh wamr damp lung tissue, and sprouted.

Oh, man, this reminds me of a something that I did a few years back. I was working as a Pre-K teacher and on a hot sunny day we were having sliced watermelon. One of the kids asked what would happen if he swallowed a seed. I told him nothing, unless he also swallowed some dirt, then he would start to grow watermelons in his tummy. Well, long story short, that was not the right thing to say to him.

Little did I know that was actually a possibility!

One of the kids asked what would happen if he swallowed a seed. I told him nothing, unless he also swallowed some dirt, then he would start to grow watermelons in his tummy. Well, long story short, that was not the right thing to say to him.

Little did I know that was actually a possibility!

I was going to comment about watermelon seeds too. My mom always joked with us that if we swallowed one we would have watermelons growing in our stomach.

When we were little, my cousin shoved a kidney bean from the "Don't Spill the Beans" game up his nose, of course never told anyone and promptly forgot about it. When it sprouted, my Aunt had to take him to the DR. to have it removed!

I hope they don't still put real beans in that game
