I don't believe I have ever asked for this before and I am very thankful I don't have a "serious" issue to ask or pray about.
However, what I do have is a job situation. Here it is:
I have a job that I accepted that starts next Monday. Same job I did before we moved, minus the bad stuff. A good job, something I would be satisfied in. Not a lot of learning of new material, just how the new company handles it. This job is in the city, INDY, and it's about 23 miles or approx 45 minutes to get there. Right now the hours are 8-4:30pm M-F though the company will start more night and weekend hours and who ever gets them is random. Left the restuarant business be I "refuse" to work weekends. Job pay is resonable.
I am waiting for an offer from a nothing company that is 11 miles from the house, no highway. Last Friday I spoke with the hiring manager and she said that they sent out my background check it would take about a week to get back, hoping they have an offer out to my by the end of this week. SHe could say defiently that they were going to offer, but said that if they weren't going to they wouldn't do the back ground check. THe job is the same type of job as above but different field (medical vs. auto claims) so I would being doing similar work but learning a lot more about the subject which I like to do (learn). No fear of moving to weekends ever and agian m-f 8-4:30pm. I can be home and in my comfy clothes by 5pm! This job starts in mid March.... good because I can meet my family in Myrtle Beach to support my little bro in something and bad because I am already going nuts at home! Pay is similar though possible a little lower 1-3k lower... worth it in my opinion for the no threat of weekends and no longer commute.
My fiance "doesn't advise" not taking the job I have to wait it out for the one I want. I am not good at change and the auto claims job would be easy but I do want to learn about medical billiing and such. My fiance supports me in many ways and I respect his veiw because we have a wedding to plan....
I guess I am asking for a little help from my friends that the offer will come by the end of this week so I can make a good decision about what to do. I don't want to settle for a job but I don't want to make an unsmart decision with unfinished knowledge.
The feeling I get from the second job is that if the background check from MA and IN comes back clean there will be an offer on the table. There is no question of the background check coming back clean!
Fingers crossed, pd and prayers are what I need!
Thanks you and I am sorry this is so long!
