PBH Room Request-Phone, Fax or email?

Can someone advise me of the best way to go about making room requests known at the Potofino Bay Hotel?

Is it best to call the hotel directly or to just go through regular reservations? I recall reading on another thread something about asking to speak to a "room controller" which I assume is through the hotel.

I'm a bit anxious after learning today that the room I've been assigned was THE one room someone on another thread said to avoid

I'm hoping for an upgrade from Portofino Suite to a Villa Suite.

Does anyone have any suggestion for a room request for PBH? We are staying in a club room, 5 of us (eeeks!) and not sure what a good room to request would be? Best location in the hotel?
