Paypal and Ebay

For those of you that sell on Ebay and get paypal payments. Do you also have the paypal debit card.

I just got mine. So I took my new paypal debit card and made a payment on my trip. And then since I am a preffered something or other. I also get 1.5% back on purchases. So I got 23 cents back when I made my payment.

I plan to take all my ebay winnings and make payments on my trip till I have it paid. And in the mean time as long as I have at least one auction every 3 or 4 weeks (don't remember) then I get the 1.5% back too.

I have the PP debit card and I love it! I've been selling on ebay to make money for our trip and I play to have $500 on it at least for our trip. I'm going to leave the card with the Pop Century front desk to pay for our charges to the room.

I thought about getting one, but aren't you charged 2.9% + $.30 for each transaction on a premiere account. So, that would take care of the 1.5%, unless you are accepting credit card payments throught paypal anyway. I've stopped taking credit card payments, b/c people would pay for a $3 item with a credit card. That stinks. By the time I paid ebay fees, and paypal fees, I probably didn't make anything!

Maybe I don't understand how this works. Feel free to clarify if I'm wrong.

I used my paypal card for all my WDW trip! every few weeks I put $100 on my account at Disney, and paid my room in full before we left! I am thinking of using it for my airfare this time but I am leery of having $700 sitting in there.. what do you all think? is it better since ebay took over paypal? I don't really hear of them freezing accounts too often anymore....?

I have left a few thousand in my Paypal account at times, but I know people are leary of leaving money in there. I think it is because buyers can dispute their purchases (maybe someone can clarify). I've never had a problem leaving it in, and I've had the account for years.

We had a major headache with Paypal about 1.5 weeks ago. Buyer paid via Paypal (was confirmed and verified), so DH shipped the item with signature confirmation via UPS. Buyer received it, then Paypal yanked the $300 from DH's account claiming that they (Paypal) were having a problem with the buyer's bank. Buyer did not pay with an e-check, so not sure what their bank had to do with it. After many phone calls and headaches, a manager at Paypal finally agreed that we should get our money back since we had shipped to a confirmed address and buyer had obviously signed for it.

So we won't be leaving balances in Paypal any longer than we have to - if the money isn't there, Paypal can't take it away from us when we've met our side of the deal...

I just used my Paypal debit card to put the deposit on my room at POP.. I don't do much ebay anymore, but when I did I preferred to not leave large sums of money in there for any length of time..
