We have a large amount of Visa Disney dollars
($1,000) - I would like to use them to pay for our WDW resort stay.

But if something happens to DH's job - we may have to cancel our vacation for 2010.

What would happen to my Disney $'s ?
Go back on the Visa Disney Dollar card ?
Credit my Visa credit card ?
Get a check back for the amount from WDW ?

Anyone know ?

The WDTC refunds money back to the original source of funding. So, if you paid with a CC, it goes back to your CC. If you paid with a GC, it goes back to the GC. And if you paid with your Disney Rewards Card, it goes back on that rewards card.

I once had to cancel and rebook my DD18's trip. I'd already paid a good portion of it with GCs - about 8 of them. Yep, every last cent was refunded to the respective GC.

I did not know I could pay with my DV points. I knew I could use them onsite but not before we arrived. I also have a lot, 850 right now and we don't travel until August. I only booked one day worth of park tickets figuring I would upgrade onsite with the DV points. If I can do that maybe I will pay off my balance ahead of time and add the tickets on before we get there. The less paperwork that needs to be done on arrival the better.

I book a package every time we go through AAA. I always have her apply my rewards to the balance before charging my credit card the balance of the trip.

It is just easier to use them this way so I don't have to worry about using them all up when we get to Disney.

I thought about making a deposit on a trip I hope we will get to take in 2010 with my Disney Dollars and wanted to know also if we had to cancel would I get back my Disney Dollars. When I emailed them this question boy did they give me a runaround answer. I am really too afraid too put down a deposit with Disney reward money.

My biggest fear about doing this, is that the rewards card does expire. If you get a rewards card this year, it will expire in Dec 2010. So if you then have a lot of points put back on the card, you would need to use them before the card expires. I don't think that you can put the points back into the account once they have been put on the card. So you would need to use the points before the card expires.
