Paying w/cc & the Tip

Hi - forgive me if this is stupid or has been asked before.

We are not doing the dinning plan so we will be paying for our meals on our CC. Do the reasturants let you put the tip on the credit card or will the tip have to be paid in cash?

I have never heard of a restaurant that took credit cards that let you pay for the meal with the credit card, but would not let you also put the tip on the credit card. WDW restaurants are no different in that regard.
