Paying upfront for some ADR and waiting for refund?

I booked our ADRs months ago online prior to adding on DxDP. When I called to see if they could link my ADRs to the DP, I was told that each restaurant would have to do it at the podeum when you check in for your reservation, however it could take a month or two before it could get back to my account. Has anyone done this before and did it really take THAT long? We only have two ressies that I paid for upfront, HDDR and CRT, but was hoping that I'd have the money back in a few days so I would have more spending money, lol!

You have two options:

1) As noted, when you pick up your tickets (typically at your resort desk, though it can be at the podium, I think), you can pay for them with credits and have the charge on your credit card reversed. I think they give a "worst case" estimate of how long it will take, but I don't know first-hand.

2) You can try to rebook the events over the phone now, linking them to the DDP. The clock on getting the refund would start now, and they'd just keep a credit card hold in case you're a no-show. The problem with this is that you have to cancel and re-book, which actually exposes you to a window of risk where you will lose your spot between the time it is dropped and the time it is re-booked.
