Is it mandatory that I pay for my Free Dining package, I mean the balance left with my Disney Visa. I did pay the deposit and I thought they said somewhere I had to pay for the rest with my disney visa. Any info? I was wanting to use some of my reward points.

I just booked my FD package and the CM told me I could pay the remaining balance (or part of it) with my Disney Dollars Reward Card. She said if I canceled after I paid using my Reward Card, that amount would be put back onto my Reward Card (she told me not to throw it away after I used it for that reason).

Ok, thanks I will remember that. I have always wonder what would happen if I were to put a deposit down with reward points and I had to cancel, but never seem to get a straight answer.

Only the deposit has to be on the Disney Visa to get the free dining. I just called 2 days ago and got free dining. :)

I wish this were true :), but I read the following on mousesavers.com:

Disney Rewards Visa cardholders can get FREE dining when you book a full price Walt Disney World vacation package for check-ins most nights 8/16/09-10/3/09. To qualify, you must use your Disney Rewards Visa card to reserve and pay for a vacation package that includes at least 3 consecutive hotel nights at an official Walt Disney World resort, plus at least a one-day theme park ticket.

It does sound like you have to pay the balance with your Disney Visa (not sure about the Disney Rewards Card though).

If anyone else has heard otherwise, I would also like to know.
Thanks!

But I just called Disney 2 days ago and got free dining. She asked me if I wanted to pay my remaining balance and I said yes and did I have to put the rest on my Visa and I didn't have to. I didn't actually. I put $200 down on my Visa... Then a month later I paid another $1400 with my Debit card, then 2 days ago paid the rest with my debit card. :)

I know last year all I had to put was my deposit on my Disney Visa. But you never know how things change. But I do have a feeling that I will be able to pay about 400 reward points on it to.

No, you are not required to pay the remaining balance with your Disney Visa for your vacation in order to receive the Free Dining. You are only required to use the Disney Visa to pay the $200 deposit. :thumbsup2

That is how it has been for me the last 3 years and this years reservation.

I put the $200 deposit on my disney visa when I booked a package and just last week, i called and paid another $500 on my ressie.

I'm sure that you only have to pay the deposit with a Disney Visa. By the time you make other payments the offer will be available to the public.

I would be very careful about doing this. I would contact Chase before expecting that rewards could be put back on the card. It has been my understanding that there are no refunds allowed on the rewards card. The CM may not know all the rules that Chase has, and they are the ones who control those cards, not disney.

Wow! I never thought of that. So, I called Chase and asked the representative and she told me that the money would indeed go back onto the Rewards Card. Before I do this, though, I will call Chase again and confirm.
